I'd walked in and out of my local Evans Cycles many times over the course of a few weeks, trying to justify purchasing the bike... I then asked if they could possibly offer a discount, and the manager gave me 10% off . Of course this depends a lot on who you speak to and when, but it's worth knowing and giving it a shot.

I guess you can't get TCB in store, but 10% is still better if you can get it.

Hot. Discounts on Bromptons few and far between.
Also this is for the 6 speed which is the one I'd go for as it has the widest range of gear ratios. Even then it's lower than your average hybrid bike.
Had my Brompton for 15 years. It felt very extravagant at the time but has been one of the best things I've ever bought. Still running perfectly.

If you don’t mind spending £1K more and having only 4 gears.

Yes. Appears that the only difference is handlebar height?

I always want to have a Brompton bike. However, I see all the Brompton owners take their bike to shops instead of locking it outside. I would definitely get one if it is not the prime target of bike theft.

That’s the point - you fold and keep the bike with you. I wouldn’t lock my Brompton outside unless I’m somewhere really safe (and even then I would be wary being a city dweller … inbuilt mistrust)
