I remember in the olden days when Brooks were like Gola and you'd be ashamed to be seen dead in them.
When did they become a premium brand?

Not an afashionado but I have found the ghost 6 and vapour running shoes to be very supportive and hard wearing. My knees are more important than my fashion sense!

The olden days I was referring to was when I was at school, I don't really care about brands, but I genuinely never thought I'd see the day when a pair of Brooks were £75 REDUCED!!

when they became a good show for running I think.
I walked into a shop in the US and asked which trainer (sneaker there) is best for running etc and she said you will not believe that the brooks is the best one there. Theyve put a lot of thought into it. Rave reviews if you read online too. I was the same as you - brooks were like the alba of electronics.

I know people who rave about them, but when I tried them I got less than 3 months wear out of them before the upper fabric started to tear etc, regular marathon training - I've stuck to addidas since then and get a lot more wear out of them.
Personal preference - give them a WIDE berth!

I had a pair of Brooks running shoes for about 2 years but they were really starting to wear out for shock absorbency. I got a new pair of Brooks running shoes for Christmas for £45 from Jarrolds as luckily they had them in my size (4.5). The £45 was a lot cheaper than the near £90 that was paid for the first pair.

I don't do marathon training or anything really intense - just a couple of miles at a time round my neighbourhood. They were fine for that. They also survived Tough Mudder.
