That's a good price for a networked printer. Voted hot! ;-)

"The DCP-540CN is let down by its poor print speed and text quality. High-resolution printing is painfully slow at 1.5 pages per minute, while lower-quality modes produce pale text with poor character definition."
"Canon's Pixma MP510 is faster, cheaper, has lower running costs and produces better-quality prints, making it the better buy."

Cheapest I can see the Pixma MP510 is £100 so not cheaper and its not networked, therefore this deal is still hot

Try £63.

Quite a few wireless/wired routers will take USB inputs from printers.

And as this is not a workgroup printer (too slow), the best option, which I have, is simply to plug it into one PC and use Windows printer sharing. No need for ethernet.

One isolated, unsolicited review isnt really that helpful

Before anyone asks...ink is very cheap. As little as £1.99 each from ]inkredible

Ive had the 240c for a year....same model but no networking. Simple to use, cheap to run and serves my small business needs perfectly.

I bought one of these in May and it's been a pretty good printer. The ethernet port was the main selling points for me and it is very easy to set up as a network printer. Unfortunately it decided to give up the ghost the other day, informing me of 'waiting to warm up' and 'failed to initialise' errors.
Apparently this may be linked to a problem with the printhead, which is a well documented issue with Brother inkjet printers.
Hopefully Brother will be able to sort it out under warranty. :-(
