I've owned this for around six months now. I paid just over £220 for it. It's a great product, really high quality. Genuine Brother toners are expensive but I use compatibles with no issues. They last ages and are cheap. No clogging inkjets ever again! Scans wirelessly direct to Google Drive or other cloud services, OneDrive etc.. loads of features. Can't fault it.

completely agree. Isn't nice printing something just once instead of printing it, finding a nozzle is blocked, then having to do a nozzle clean and printing it again. And the quality is so much better than an inkjet for everday (non-photo) printing.

Ah yes. £186 with VAT and cashback. But still a better deal IMO.

Looks very similar.. Price after cashback is basically the same.. Seems to have all the same functions. Need to go through the specs of both machines with a fine tooth comb to see exactly what the differences are..

Apart from price, what's the difference between the 2 printers. Can someone post a link to cheap toners for them also?

Main difference is the MFC-L8650CDW is faster. Not necessarily better, but in the laser printer world it appears that you pay for speed. I assume it has a faster processor.

Adding it all up I'd say that as the MFC-L8650CDW appears to be a higher spec model and cheaper, that it is the one to get.

You might also want to look at hotukdeals.com/dea…711 . I chose the Canon because the drum is integrated into the toners. Not sure that is a good reason, but on the Brother lasers you have to change the drum after a few years and they are expensive. HTH

I may be wrong, but I think the one posted is an LED laser printer and the other model is a traditional laser printer ... but don't quote me on that!

I've got one of these, paid about this price from Leo office stationery about 3 months. Theyve got em in John Lewis so might be worth getting them to match it?

Its great, but large.

Got this too, brilliant but slow to start a print

not a deal.

Normal day to day price.

Please note that printing to ANY Brother printer, from Android, will result in poor quality output (jagged text and geometric shapes). PDFs printed via Android are mostly unreadable, as text often becomes an illegible smudged mess, and graphics become artifact laden. It's a known issue, and Brother don't anticipate releasing remediatory firmware (and software update) within the next 18 months (from Jan 2016) at least.
