I've
been watching the price of these printers and they have come down today
on a number of websites. Brother are one of the few manufacturers that
you can fairly easily refill the toners yourself.
Ordering through
TCB you get 10% (today) AND £20 automatic voucher if you spend over
£200, so I added some kitchen rolls. You can also tick the box to get
another £10 off your next order.
(I found I had to tick and untick the "Care" option to get it to calculate the price properly

same got this. been using it a year and still have 25% toner left( print 20+ pages a day). every function works perfectly. even print from android just fine. great printer.
I've got this too.
Great printer . I've just applied the trick to reset the cartridges to full as they still have loads of life left in them.

My only criticism is that I can't seem to get wireless printing and USB connected printing/scanning to work simultaneously.I have it constantly connected by USB so can't print from phone.

Its probably something that i'm doing wrong!

Pretty sure I paid a little less than this about 18 months ago (still on starter toners too)

£191.18 on Amazon now.
Link to the cheap toner refill? I've owned this for a couple of years and my black is out. Good printer tbh.

Well done. How did you get it that low ?
Mine was £164 (when including TCB) for the printer and 24 kitchen rolls ! Now I need to work out how to print on kitchen roll
I got this but the heat diffuser burnt out after about 16 months.

Does anyone know why this would happen because I thought Brother was a good reliable brand. Luckily I replaced the faulty fuser with a cheap £20 chinese copy (original is £100). I admit I was using cheap compatible cartridges off ebay but can cheap toner cause this?
Can anyone confirm whether this model can copy in duplex mode? Or is it simplex only for copying?

A compatable defective toner burnt out the diffuser on my 6 month old Brother HL-3140CW. The seller admitted the toner was faulty but would only offer to replace the toner.

Had one of these for 5 years. The drum has been threatening to die for the past 2 but I've ignored it and it's still going strong.

£30 for a set of refills on ebay/amazon.

Ours is useless after less than 12 months. Not sure why? We used compatible cartridges but the colours despite changing them are just wrong. Looking for an alternative model now as this one is going in the bin!
