With all due respect to Which? Magazine,

- it prints images on documents just fine, although if you're after something for lots of photos you should probably look elsewhere.
- it's a printer, not an all-in-one
- they reviewed it at 4 times this price

Fantastic printer. Laser, colour, duplex, fast, reliable. For £70 after cashback, it’s a no brainer. The toners it comes with last a loooong time even though they are not the high capacity ones, and you can buy compatibles.

The only negative is that it’s very large (and heavy).

Third party toners about £10 each.
Seems a bit too big for home use:
617 x 533 x 521 mm 25.4kg. Nevertheless a good price for someone who's after a cheap laser printer and has plenty of space at home

I use Printerbase quite often and found them to be a decent company to use.

Looks like around £50 for "compatible" cartridges (1600 pages), don't forget you'll need 4 of these. 1 for each of the 3 colours and black.
Thinking of getting rid of my hp Deskjet 8610 as 3rd party toners didn't work and currently paying for instant ink. This seems a better deal for me in the long run. Thanks

Too big for my computer table. And really, my inkjets good enough.
Great deal though and plenty of good compat toners at a fraction of Brothers prices

That's the boxed dimensions.

Out of the box it's a bit less at 410x486x313mm and 21.8kg
Does brother accept purchases from print base on its cash back?
Urefilltoners sell a kit to reset and refill the cartridges. I reset my in the box set and they've printed 100s of pages since. Brother would have had me buy new ones at that point.

Yes.
I’m tempted as kids do a lot of school printing, it’s the price of cartridges that put me off!
Any other recommendations for a good printer with reasonable cartridge prices?

Unless someone can magically come up with the link to the said “£10 per cartridge”

That’s more palatable
I bought it when it was listed previously (at a higher price), and the Brother cashback was paid within a day or two of applying.

I've been happy with the printer - only thing I haven't liked is that it's a bit slow to print the first page.

Genuine question, what's the yield like on these?

The description says "high capacity" without actually specifying anything, so potentially meaningless and possibly not cost effective.

The ones I linked to earlier are what we use at work. We typically get 8-10 reams from a set. Mostly documents with a mixture of single and double sided printing.

£69 for a laser printer (even if cartridges arent as cheap as inkjet) - Winner!!
I went for it. Worth a punt for £70 I guess

looks like fat cow in da house:)
I just got back £100 from £185, I thought that was good value. £69 for a quality laser printer is a bargain. Incidentally this comes with 3000 page black toner and 1850 in page colour toners.

How long it took? Been waiting almsot 3 weeks for cashback
Thank you for posting. We have added this to the Highlights section.
Those worrying about cost of toner, remember that the black cartridges will be replaced multiple times before you replace the colour ones (unless you've made the background of your prints rainbow). When doing the maths, the cost of a black and white print is something like 1p per page, and that includes paper from a £3 realm
£100 back or 3 years warranty. That's similar to saying to a HUKDer "your money or your life"*.

*As in life free from worry. Would have gone for it had it got both.

Does anyone know if other brands' promo tend to give at least 2 years normally? Or is 1 year the new black?
