Two cartridge sizes. Standard and High Yield.
Mentioned in the video @ 01:10
(here, I'll save you the effort of scrolling up) take a look at the video which mentions print yields:

High yields cartridges are ~£100 for genuines

You can replace with a standard or high yield cartridge, OR...

...buy a refill kit that this model seems to lend itself well to.
Watch the below info video on refilling.

Is it come with full cartridges
bought this a few weeks ago. it's big and heavy buy prints are great. photo is decent for a laser if the image isn't too dark. cashback was in the bank within a week
andondelkov08/05/2019 21:18

Is it come with full cartridges

It is said to come supplied with:
3000 page black toner cartridge
1800 page CMY colour (separate) toner cartridges

It's all explained in the video in my original posting. (Come on, watch it, it's only 01:57 of your life.)

If you want to replenish you have the choice of getting high yield toners:
6500 page black toner
4000 page colour toners

It's only the bulk of the printer you'll have to convince her on.

It does seem to be a very good deal for cost worry-free printing

Forget brother, check Xerox 6025

Come on! Apples, Pears.
The Xerox current cheapest price is £190.88.
Ok, it's all-in-one with the built in scanner which means copying stuff will be easier - so big plus point for the Xerox, and it's 7 kilos lighter, but there's no auto-duplex (which is one of the main reasons people reprint things because it goes wrong when handling manually)
Slower at max print speed 12ppm max
and supplied with Toner cartridge: Cmyk 500 page capacity

I can buy three of these Bruh printers and still have change.
You could probably start a printing business by buying ten of these Bro's.

That might get a bit tiresome for some in a busy office/home environment and people trying to print via wifi several times a day. Not a big issue for me personally.

Yep, looks like you're both right - £158.40 minus the rebate = total cost £58.40
plus the quidco or TCB or £5 M&S voucher freebie + nectar points

(I added a few other things to my basket so wasn't immediately obvious)

It appears the £15 discount is applied before doing the VAT calculation.

Can't change OP as moderators have locked me out (2nd time this week).

You snooze, you lose. You need to claim cashback before the end of may. Bargains like this don't come around very often

Anyone know how long the cashback takes?

I had applied on 7 March 19 (previous cashback) and received BACS on 20 March.

I wondered the same thing for years and it's what stopped me buying one but after reading all the comments from people about how useless lasers were for photos I stuck with inkjets.

Last year however my printing needs increased dramatically and I bought the all-in-one version of this printer and was frankly annoyed as hell that I didn't buy a colour laser sooner! Granted my eyes aren't what they once were but I now have many family photos printed, framed and on the wall, including A4 ones and neither myself or anyone else has noticed any difference to the inkjet printed ones.

Not having to print test patterns and burn through my cartridges on cleaning cycles has made the mundane job of printing infinitely more straightforward.
It’s a huge printer, heavy too. I paid £85 on Amazon last month as there was a cashback from Brother of £100. It’s a good printer but it will take lots of space.

Tell me about it!

3 inkjets later I thought enough was enough.
HP was worst offender. You tear open a cartridge to see how little ink is contained and most of it, as you say, wasted on cleaning cycles.

4th was a Samsung colour laser (with a £75 rebate) which has become a pain running especially since HP bought them up and software updates abandoned. Getting to the stage where colour printing is patchy, toner set is crying out for new CMY cartridges. Convinced I would have to spend £70 odd, before I spotted this combination of discount code, price and rebate making this Bro the cheapest printer I will have ever bought.

Then occasionally when you need colour then set to print in colour.I still have the original colour toner since purchase about 2 years ago.Compatible B&W high capacity toner is £18 on eBay. This is what I use for my Brother 8350CDW.

but how much are the compatible colour toners I wonder? I have All in one brother laser in black and white. I am still also on the inital starter toner, that came with the machine.
We’ve had one for a couple of months, great printer but check the dimensions before you order as it is large.
I bought it on the basis of refilling the toner by hand as it basically has 4 toner cartridges not dissimilar from the Brother 2250DN B&W ones.
£100 cash back from Brother seems to be frequently available
Thanks for this deal, I'm very tempted. The only issue is I mainly use my inkjet for scanning at the moment, is there any similar printer to this one that has a built in scanner?
If not I'll likely get this and end up keeping my inkjet just for that purpose anyway.

Response from Viking Direct on timescales for printer delivery

"Dear ************ (TopTrump)

Thank you for your E-mail.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

The couriers will call you to let you know when they're ready to deliver and you can then arrange a time with them to suit you.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Extra warranty takes a few days longer to show on your Brother account.

Can you mind if the toner set was in a sealed bag upon delivery? If it was should last quite a few years if i decide to buy a "spare".Then again i do not print that much but less than 60 quid plus TCB cashback for official toner set is tempting.

No not dry out as I know its powder but I believe some have expiry dates, at least that is what google throws up but might be a clever scam from manufacturers to just get you to buy a new set.

You might want to ping a message or call Viking asking them about timescales so that they don't later rely on an excuse for non delivery. Try and get them to commit a unit for you.

All of these printers sold by Viking were 'dispatched directly from supplier', which leads me to believe that Brother can't later wriggle out of the rebate using the excuse of non-authorised dealer.
