My printer failed this evening. I checked HotUKDeals for deals ... didn't see this. The price is £40 (44%) off the pre-Christmas price and £10 cheaper than Maplin, although I see Argos has it for the same money. I went out and bought it to get a project finished ... now I see whether it's hot or cold.
It comes with enough ink for 1,000 pages. For an extra £6 PC World will extend the warranty from two to three years, and convert the guarantee from return-and-wait to instant replacement (even if you have tipped your coffee into it accidentally).
As I'll save more than £6 by using non-Brother ink, I took the instant replacement too.
The "customer support agreement" is usually £12, but it cost me £6 (50% off) in-store. I was offered it at the till. The receipt says it's a promotional offer.
Three years' cheap printing with instant replacement if anything goes wrong for a total of £55.99.
