Batteries - by loads you mean 6, if only you could recharge batteries....
Take ages to type - well isn't that down to you
Fortune - If you consider less than £2 a fortune you need to get a better job

Bargain price @Frank30uk
Bought one about 2 months ago to replace a Dymo. Big and chunky but a much better product than the Dymo in my opinion. Compatible cartridges can be found on Ebay. Great for labeling chargers etc before you forget which goes with what. Print labels in bulk if you can to avoid the wastage on either side of the strip.

Thanks for posting @Frank30uk we have added this to the Highlights pages
Do I need one? No.

Did I label everything in the house when I borrowed one from work for one evening? Yes.

Have I ordered this one? Also yes.

Thanks, OP.

I use an external PSU, when you say bulk what do you mean as it really does waste a lot, thanks in advance.

When you need a few labels you type everything at once, print the whole thing out and then cut them with scissors. This way you waste the long piece of tape at the beginning and end only once.

I do the same at work as I don't like wasting things, no matter if it was me who paid for that
don't forget to label your label maker once you get it

Spot on. If you print one label you will see theres a lot of wastage both sides. So printing in bulk avoids this. Do a list of labels you need to print and add to it as you remember items that need a label.
