Grabbed one of these last time this deal was on.

Great little machine.

Has wifi so you don't need more wires.

Comes with some nifty software and there are various sizes of roll available. The device itself is solidly built and it loads rolls automatically - comes supplied with two sample lengths.

Brother have provided an iphone app which works well over wifi - you can for example photograph something using the camera app, then send the pic to the printer. A printed label pops about 2 seconds later.

It's thermal technology so you don't need to buy ink and the image quality is very good. I've taken to printing all sorts of stuff since it can do much more than just text. The resolution is very impressive for a label printer I've printed photos and graphic art. Used it extensively to print vouchers for this offer. hotukdeals.com/fre…256 Very quick and convenient just select number of copies hit print and within seconds I was armed with vouchers neatly trimmed to size ready to challenge any shopkeeper.

Next day delivery included. Free 3 year warranty when you register the product online.

Had no problem redeeming the cashback - sent copy of Printerbase invoice by post to the supplied address funds appeared in my bank account shortly after.

I was going to buy this one argos.co.uk/sta…htm

It was £39.99 but price just gone back up to £69.99

Great price. I've got the 570 but wish I had this for the app support.

Incidentally the 570 is usually £39.99 on Amazon and £45 in Staples. This looks better for the money.

I don't need this, nor do I think I will ever use it, but for some reason I've bought it

I have the wired version of this and love it. Sometimes I print stuff just to keep it happy, like a tamagotchi.

How much better is the QL-720W? and how much does QL-720W cost?

Why not get the 720NW for £10 more and £50 cashback?

Is Misco an authorised retailer eligible for cashback?

Seems weird that they wouldn't be pushing the promotion on their listings.

I recently bought the QL-720NW from Printerbase - all went alright and I received my cashback in my account this week - probably took about two weeks from purchase to cashback

Good deal if misco are authorised retailer

Ive just bought one from Misco.
looking on the brother website I see no reason why Brother wont honour the cash back as long as you produce proof of purchase

Just like other sorts of printers, running costs are what you need to know for these.

Last time I spoke with Brother the item just had to be from UK stock (3 weeks ago) with proof of purchase.

Amazon seems to sell generic rolls for this. The reference to eBay was about using the labels, not obtaining them.

I am a bit confused about whether this printer would be good for me or not, I would like to see how much the labels are going to be but am a bit confused with it all - please can you show me a set of generic rolls which will be compatible with it?

Oh, also are the labels self adhesive? Thanks

The labels are self adhesive you peel off the backing.

To clarify since there's been a couple of queries this printer is basically an address label type printer..but it has a highish resolution so can be used for any situation where a black and white self adhesive label would be handy. The print output is similar to photocopy but with much finer detail and a nice range of greyscales, so even photographic prints look kinda neat.

If using a continuous roll you can determine the length of the label which gives even greater scope so you can do things like banners. Or you can do really short labels eg for partitions in a filing cabinet or "opened on " for food in the fridge. Use your imagination. The rolls are not especially cheap but even the Brother supplies are only a penny or two per address size label. You also don't have to pay for ink or toners or maintain the machine as you would a regular printer because it uses thermal technology.

I bought one of these as an alternative to sheets of labels which jam in my printer after a couple of passes and thus work out rather a lot more expensive. Found all sorts of purposes for the machine which I had not anticipated. It's really a pleasure to use as it's so quick and easy to work with, and I like the wireless aspect as you can put move the machine where you're working doesn't have to be next to the computer.

It might have been then, but now it's 3.7%. Same price at Saverstore but delivery is only £4.99 so £56.98 with no reliance on cashback. (They will deliver to a work address with a first order, and you can use PayPal.)

The Brother website says nothing about "authorised" sellers; in fact it assumes you've already purchased and you want to claim retrospectively. It merely says you need to post it a proof of purchase.

JamesSmith

I know you can also get non self-adhesive paper (for printing tickets etc) but the places selling this don't seem to state unambiguously that it is not self-adhesive.

It's a minor concern that Misco do not promote the offer on their page there - they do promote other cashback offers on their site.

Also this page.

misco.co.uk/new…rds

It states Brother is an "Approved Vision Partner" - whatever that means - instead of reseller.

Furthermore, if you go via the Brother site authorized dealer locator here.

brother.co.uk/g3.…tor

Misco are not mentioned among the resellers.

Can't be sure either way here. I recommend contacting Brother to avoid disappointment!

I have just called them and they said that as long as you buy it from a UK-registered company you should be fine. Saverstore appears to be, and it's cheaper than Misco.

From the brother online customer service:
Me: I am woundering, Is it Misco an authorized dealer?
Jo: Yes they are you would need to go onto the Brother.co.uk and register your product and create an account. If you get stuff the admin team would be able to help you on 08444 999 444 opt 2 or you could e-mail them at admin@brother-uk.com
