Bruce Lee was one of the most famous and talented martial artists in the late 70s and 80s decade. Apart from being a traditional martial artist, he is also a renowned movie star and a philosopher who made him a cultural icon.

He has acted very few martial arts related action movies in the late 70s decade, but the fame he got through those moves is unbelievable. Unfortunately, he died in 1973 while he is acting in the film called Enter the Dragon. Bruce Lee was named as 100 most influential people of the 20th century on Time Magazines.

The following are several inspiring quotes from Bruce Lee.

“A goal is not always meant to be reached. It often serves simply as something to aim at. ”

“If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done.”

“If you think a thing is impossible, you’ll make it impossible. Pessimism blunts the tools you need to succeed.”

I can't conceive of what motivates a person to write something like this. Never heard of respect for the dead? But for anyone else reading, the film was, funnily enough, fiction. True to historical accounts of Bruce's character it was not. I could quote chapter and verse but I'd rather live a positive life and spend my time on something more constructive. Which funnily enough probably matches Bruce's philosophy. Be like a tree is one of his classics.

I guess it doesn't matter that much. Even after Tarantino dies people will still love Bruce. In fact, more people love Bruce even though he's dead than Tarantino even though he's alive. Perhaps his attitude was what it took to stand out in Hollywood, but then others saw him differently.

Tarantino isn't interested in truth, he's interested in stylistic endeavour. No one knows how well Bruce Lee could really fight, however many professionals state he was excellent, his ideas and dedication certainly mean he could have been a formidable opponent. Humans evolve, there's music and art created today that are fundamentally impossible because of technological revolution. Would Bruce Lee be a great MMA fighter today? Not based on his style of the 1970's but he was a forward thinker and if around today he would study the techniques of today.

Will someone beat Usain's records one day? Definitely. Will someone score a better goal in the Premier League than Denis Bergcamp did against Newcastle? Someone will score one as good if not better one day. What made Bruce Lee so interesting was he didn't stick with convention, and he was willing to take the best out of all fighting styles and combine them. You may have seen the best in your lifetime, but the best is always yet to come. Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, Tiger Woods, all their records are there to be broken.

Tarantino last did a truly great film in 1994 with Pulp Fiction. He was a promising director, but he's no Stanley Kubrick. He has rarely been on the cutting edge of film making.
