Great phones! I bought the triple for my elderly parents who were getting up to 10 nuisance calls a day, they have not had a single nuisance call since then, totally recommend. £69.99 good for the triple, i paid £74.99 from Amazon

good phone, good price. not so good if you have health problems, and your hospital ring you frequently, since they tend to be on a withheld number

amazing phone and a great price (though also the same price at both currys and argos of you're not near john lewis). heat added

Yep totally agree. Best phones I've ever purchased.

Doesn't stop them from calling, they just need to say who they are then press the # to get through, then its up to the recipient to accept the call once they hear who it is. My folks have had calls from the health centre and chiropodist who have done this with no problems what so ever! They have even been asked about the phones as these callers thought it was a great idea as they had been getting nuisance calls too!

Price is actually £49.99 - SPAM please

The only negative i would say is you have to input known contact numbers manually so that it doesn't take them through to answering machine. Otherwise if relatives call and they dont mention their name it would just cut them off there and you wouldnt even know about it, same with ppl calling from abroad.

True but any number that didn't get through will be shown as missed call.

Might be a silly question, for the call blocking do you need a BT landline

No I use these phones on a Sky line, you just need caller ID enabled.

No, I think you just need caller display.

Amazon is now slightly cheaper at £49.80, though presumably with only a 1 year guarantee.

If we have a set of two of these already and purchase another set of two, can they be interconnected?

These are the best phones ever defiantly recommend hardly get any nuisance calls now as they only get through if they give there name but even then it's upto you if you answer call or not. You can be with any network dont need caller display but work best if you have it I'm with virgin and they set up for free the only downside I think is the phones don't ring for long before the answer machine cuts in so you need to be quick

JL includes its own extended warranty at no additional cost (total 2 years from purchase). Argos & Currys charge for any warranty extension.

Delay before the phone's answerphone kicks-in can be adjusted, including to after any service provider's answerphone kicks-in. Default is four rings. Simple delay adjustment can be seen on pg 48 of manual. Manual can be viewed via a web browser here.

Bought this a few weeks ago. Have to say that we've observed a lot of 'missed calls' even though no one heard the phone ring when at home. I guess this is because people hang up as soon as they hear the automated message of the call guardian. However, I've been informed that by a relative (living abroad) that they are still having to go through call guardian (say name and press #) even though I've saved their phone number to the phone book.

People on our phone book list who are calling from UK land or mob are set to go to ans gone if the predetermined number of out loud rings at home are exceeded. Perfect set up. System has been told by us not to use the caller announcer function for numbers within the phone book.

I got a single refurbished one for £25 from telephonesonline.co.uk if anyone's interested
Haven't had a single unwanted call since

£25 is the typical selling price for those refurbished singles with basestation. At time of this post, there's a few new (not refurb) singles with basestation on the bay at £27 delivered ebay.co.uk/itm…625 . Additional single with charger & pod are about £20 new delivered amazon.co.uk/gp/…74/

Not strictly true. You can set the phone to auto discard withheld calls, which means the caller won't be given the opportunity to state their name if they are calling from a withheld number.

I have this handset. A few cons:
- I find the handset volume fairly low, even when on max its sometimes hard to hear who you're speaking to unless you're in a totally silent environment
- Base station LEDs are very bright. Bad news if this is in your bedroom! On some of BT's other hardware (e.g. Home Hub) there is an option to dim (but still not totally turn off) LEDs. As usual, a bit of black parcel tape has solved this 1st world hurdle for me.

Great phone, highly recommended for anyone plagued by PPI, Ambulance Chasers and "Microsoft" India.
We still get 10 calls a day as we have done for the last few years, just now I don't ever know about them unless I go and look at the calls list.
Works brilliantly and settings are adjustable for your own needs - we discard anything international as we don't have anyone abroad in the family who would be calling us, withelds and mobile numbers go through to announce mode, anyone in our phone book comes right through. Couldn't be happier and no more disturbances from idiot companies at all since we got it.
If everyone had one there would be no money in cold calling and good riddance to the lot of them.

Another hot vote from me. Not had a single spam call since getting this phone, and anyone not on my contacts list that really wants to speak to me, just announces themselves. It's really satisfying to check the phone periodically and see all the missed calls from obvious cold callers and know that the phone never rang and disturbed you. The plus points far outway any small negatives it may have.

I will not vote hot as much cheaper at my local electronic store in hitchin.

I second all the positive comments for this. Its great to pick up the handset and see a missed call that you were not even bothered with as the phone never rang.

A few other plusses....put a number in the contacts list on one handset and it appears on all handsets; you can put the phone into a do not disturb mode for a period of time and can select to allow VIP contacts to still get through if you wish; the phone feels solid and the menus are easy to use.

I have had 3 sets of these, the call blocking feature is great... But all 3 sets have had problems with the hands free speakerphone, even when sat right next to base it constantly breaks up (maybe I am just very unlucky with these).

I got these for my grandparents. They were plagued by nuisance calls for it support, insulation and boilers. I configured the phones to only allow numbers in the address book through, everybody else is simply rejected with a message. My grandparents have no idea anybody tried to ring. I regularly check the blocked numbers and add any that are OK to call ready for next time.

can I block international numbers ? it doesn't show number when they phone it says international when they phone . I get everyday 5 6 times international calls really annoying

This morning the phone alerted me to a gentleman calling from "London Accidents Hospital" and I realised they're trying to get past the call blocker like a raptor picking at the fence...

Great telephones since getting I have had no cold callers, I was getting about 6 a day so am really pleased.

Blocks cold calling Indian scammers, what more can I say?

Does it block sales calls from BT themselves? Pestering me weekly at present!

Bought. Heat added. Thx

Excellent phone. Not a single call nuisance since we got it. Bit of easy learning to set up but no problem.
Bit cheaper on BT eBay outlet

I paid £49.80 on the 9th May. Would have posted but didn't think it was a 'Deal' as such. Never mind. Anyways, cracking set of phones.
I'm with Virgin Media and had a massive hassle with them, mainly as I couldn't remember the password when we set up the account a decade ago and they refused to talk to me as my wife's name is on the account and she at work. I kicked off big time which I never do and got put through to disconnections who had no problem talking to me.
All I wanted was to add caller ID which is required for the call blocker to work. They charge for caller ID £2.25 a month but I got for free which is just as well as I had no intensions of paying for it anyways.

The phones are brilliant. Despite registering with TPS I was still getting nuisance calls and lots of them, and as our number is very similar to a local taxi firm we were getting calls at all hours including when nightclubs are closing from drunkard's barely able to speak looking for taxi's. A nightmare ! But not any more.

There is a handy 'Do not disturb' feature which we use which only allows the phone to ring when a 'VIP' contact calls. Handy if you want peace but are also expecting a potentially important phone call say from your daughter going into labour or your Sons partner doing the same etc.

Really great phones, good wireless range, good size contacts list, good choice of ring tones, just really great phones. I would highly recommend them

TPS numbers are used like a directory by some call centres, better off not registering.

Yes. We haven't had a single cold call since putting this handset in from any international, withheld, not available numbers at all.
Really gives you peace and quiet while still being available for people you actually want to speak to.

Just to add my name to the list of satisfied customers. The Call Guardian facility works perfectly for us and has (to date) totally eliminated spam calls. Only con is earpiece volume doesn't go high enough for my liking but none of the rest of the family have the same problem.
