What model if you don't mind me asking? These are rated for 200mbps which is more than enough, but sometimes these speeds are not achievable.

Thanks. I'll give these a go, at least i can play xbox in bed without drop outs over wifi.
Many thanks should save me some congestion on the wifi
thanks op,just what i needed dont need them to be 500mbs like the currys deal as its just to save me running an ethernet cable across the room, but i do need to still be able to use the socket as im short of them.
Anyone know if you can use more than 2 of these on the same network ? I want to have a connection in all the bedrooms upstairs
does anyone know if these are compatible with bt simple network powerline adapters?
wow 200? Given that real speeds are nowhere near, are these useful at all?
benjai... May be to make them futureproof and some people have that speed now, plus add a bit of it might(or not) in the real world achieve those speeds.

Will this stop movies buffering I watch on my Firestick?
I get so tired of all the screen freezing and buffering when I'm watching movies or football.
I'm currently using Sky unlimited broadband,we don't have the Sky fibre in this area just yet.

Fire sticks only use WiFi,don't they? You would need an ethernet connection

If they are only connected via WiFi then these won't help you
WiFi is fine for devices such as laptops/phones/tablets etc but personally I connect everything that can be connected to wired internet such PS3, Smart TV, Sky box, Android TV box etc.

Obviously less cool but no buffer.....

Did exactly that for my Now TV. But with a wifi-only firestick you'd want a similar powerline kit but one that does wifi. eg johnlewis.com/tp-…149
Had a pair of these, they worked great for about a year. Then both of them stopped, no LED's lighting up on the front etc totally dead, they wouldn't reset. I thought it was very strange that both of them failed at the same time, I could have accepted it if it had just been one of them but both of them at the same time

PLEASE NOTE.
These work on your ring mains, so if you plug one in downstairs it uses the downstairs ring mains, it will not work upstairs. There are wifi versions that will help boost signal. hope this helps.

Mine used to work upstairs and downstairs, the house is only 12 years old so the wiring is ok (or it should be oO )

If the separate rings are connected to the same supply then in my experience powerline does work spanning ring mains.
However, quality and speed could be diminished, but then any powerline network is only as good as the quality of the wiring.
If possible try and borrow and some powerline devices first - or be prepared to sell if the experiment doesn't work.
Somebody asked if this would stop buffering - if your internet speed is poor, then it's poor
Hot deal!
These work really well and will link up with universal powerline adapted. However, they are prone to sudden death after the 12 month warranty period. Good price.

but sometimes these speeds are not achievable.

these speeds are NEVER achievable, they add the MAX up and down speed which is only achieved in a lab. NOt dissing these as they ALL use the same shenanigans bit like saying your car(data) will travel at 140mph on the motorway.
they do seem to work upstairs and down with no problems and also in power adapters (connected to adapters) despite their warnings. YMMV.
Generally a better more consistent thruput than wifi, but they all seem to need resetting occasionally.
*test your speed b4 and after with ookla speedtest (4 different times of day)
10/100 only but a good deal considering the price.

Try installing wifi analyser on your phone. See if your router is on the same band as everyone else's. Move it away from that. It should help a little bit! (^_-)

I have the TP link 500mbps ones for the same reason and they are fantastic. The connection is totally solid and runs at about 86mps on different cicuits. I would expect these will do the job just as well as at highest quality the streaming will peak at around 17mbps from testing different games.

Do these work if you plug them into an extension lead? Or do they need to be directly plugged into the wall?

I have used them before (not this exact set but another set of powerline adapters) plugged into an extension lead fine. Obviously it is better to plug directly into the wall if you can as then the signal is only travelling down the thicker ring main cables rather than the extension cable as well, with these having a passthrough mains socket, that is the idea for these to allow you to still plug whatever you want in after them.
Thanks for this. Don't forget 11% cashback through Quidco.

I lose about 0.5Mbps when connecting through extension lead.
