Yet another reason to jack my job in and live off the state. :x

Hot for the find, but... kin ell.

Why don't we do this with everything?
People on benefits pay half price or less for any goods or services, and it's subsidised by the workers?

Fancy a new car?

Only £5k* !!!
For those on income support. Otherwise it's £11,995

yeah i know what you mean, another nice offer for the lazy brigade to go with their free broadband and laptop the goverment just announced this week, anyone know if you leave your job how long you have to wait for the dole or probably be better to get fired and get it straight away? :whistling:

I swear to you I am £3.00 worse off working than on the dole, but at least I can walk around with my head held high , unlike the scrounging, thieving, lying, manipulating...

You'd be surprised.

I think this will cost more people money in the long run. If you run over your 4.50 allowance its 10p a minute within the uk, plus 3p per call. BT are a business and this won't help scroungers at all.

nothing like a sweeping generalisation there:x

Typical back-door earner for BT. How easy is it to go over £4 .50 per month in calls...pretty hard not to imho.

Its not even that generous :-D

The BT Basic line rental is only £13.50 every three months (including VAT), and you can pay your bill however you like.
Your line rental includes a call allowance of £4.50 every three months (this includes VAT). This means that if your phone calls to normal UK or international destinations never go over that amount, your bill will never be more than £13.50 every three months (including VAT).
If you do go over your call allowance, then you will have to pay 10p a minute (plus 3p for each phone call) for all normal UK calls. If you don't use up all of your call allowance, you can't carry this over to the next three months.

Still think it's b********** giving only certain sections of society the opportunity to take up such offers.... good or bad

guys, i htink your missing the point, which is:

a good deal is a good deal - whether you personally can or cannot get it. this is an offer from BT not HM govt.

if we start voting on political lines we are f****d!!!

this is more expensive then even a normal line ,BT must be getting desperate

All the scrounging gits seem to have mobiles anyway:p

Its NOT 4.50 a month thats over a three month period its 1.50 a month.

BUT if ya don't use ya phone hardly its a good deal, usuall line rental is 10.50 a month, with this line rental is 4.50 a month plus ya 1.50 call allowance so as long as you use less than that you're saving money,if you are a low user its good.

Think you're missing the point actually, looks like it is a **** deal, 10p/min+3p calls after your £1.50/month allowance, even with a cheap line rental it would probably work out just as expensive for your average punter

does this deal appear to be aimed at "your average punter"? erm...NO!:whistling:

more money to spend at Bingo:p

I used to border on socialist, but having lived a little and spoken to and interacted with various demographic groups I've changed my views.

The one that got me most was beggars. There's one guy I know, who's a good laugh and a nice chap, but I can't get past the insight he's given me into what he and others do.

He's feeling the economic downturn. He could quite easily pull £200 a day last year during the summer. On good days, upwards of £300. His flat was paid for by the council and his earnings never brought up officially. This year it's more hit and miss, but he won't be making less than a couple of hundred a week.

There's a van that brings people into the city and drops them off at certain places along a street. Beside the cash machines mainly. The guy with the van takes a cut.

thanks for actually bothering to read the deal with an open mind. actual line rental is only £3, which as a deal for a land line for elderly/disabled people is great imho. and i hope that many people may now be able to afford to keep a landline for peace of mind.
however a lot of spiteful losers would obviously prefer those BT "fatcats", (you remember them dont you),to have an extra round of trebles at xmas instead.

nothing like a sweeping generalisation there:x

I agree, I grew up with hardworking parents who are on benefits, they did a huge amount of voluntary work but dad wasnt able to do physically demanding jobs(as in couldnt lift boxes etc) but both work full time(if not double that) doing charity work like councilling and my mum works with local handicapped kids.

The hate they get as people assume they are stupid and scroungers is terrible.

Both want to work but my dad cant get most jobs and my mum cant get a job that would support both of them so its catch 22

That looks like a right jumble
Hope you can make sense of it .
Sat and typed it all under headings GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Sorry lol

Unfortunately, your parents are the exception rather than the rule.

Every credit to them though.

Is there a line activation fee of £130 with an 18 month or 12 month contract?

How do you know though? its like everything you never hear about the good people on benefits just the bad so you assume that pretty much everyone on benefits are bad.

Id say there was a far larger percentage than you think who arent workshy but just cant get a job.

My parents have little heating, a house falling to bits, an ancient pc that they bought themselves, a 13 year old phone in their house, mobiles that get topped up like £10 a year, furniture that is falling apart.

When I was on benefits I couldnt even get cash for a uni interview and had my flat burgled and they offered me £5 though I had no food, clothes, furniture or even bed sheets or quilt!

line rental is £13.50 per quarter. this includes £4.50 of "free"" calls.;-)

equivalent is £4.50 per month but includes £1.50 of calls.

I know what i meant but it came out wrong when i typed it..lol

I meant you outlay 3.00 rental a month plus ya get the call allowance of 1.50 which totals 4.50 a month all in.

It all depends how much an individual spends on phone calls a month, some it will be suitable for some it won't.

How much do you lot spend on ya landline gossipping on calls for ONE MONTH NOT including line rental ??
