So I guess this is how they’re spending the money from price increaes for existing customers...

I am paying £47.99 per month for just BT Infinity 2. I got the e mail about the price increase and that I was free to leave etc

Contacted EE and got the equivalent package for £30

Rang BT to give them my notice and was put through to retentions, got the lets see what we can do you for you as we dont want to lose you etc

On hold for 10 mins, guy comes back says they can do BT infinity for £50,49 per month. EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FROM JANUARY
They arent bothered about existing customers people. They have never offered me anything worthwhile to stay. I always leave them and come back as a new customer

The worst utility company i have ever used in the last 20 years. After my first horrific experience of call centres in India I tried them again after a few years thinking they must have improved.... NOPE! I got out of my contract after 2 months as the service and product was so bad.

How does this compare to virgin in service and performance

Haters will hate, but I have been thoroughly impressed with BT since I joined them in the summer (BT TV, calls and BT Infinity 1). No price increase yet, very fast and totally reliable internet, it’s never faltered. I had the most horrific service from Virgin, I’ll never go back to them again. I was left without services for several weeks, with barely an apology. Found Virgin internet to be very slow, sluggish, and eventually gave up. Several call outs etc. which never got to the bottom of the fault and would have eventually meant digging up half of our estate to fix dodgy fitted cables!

Quidco and tcb will pay out with these too

Will the price go up in January? And if it does, can anyone signing up to these contracts then walk?

Due to 'rejoin' on the 22nd and this is better then my offer so might try and haggle tomorrow to get this.

Existing customers, Upgrading. ??

Just looked and I think the two Infinity packages have a £59.99 Fee (£50 Infinity activation fee, and £9.99 Hub delivery fee). Still pretty good though, especially with the Reward Card.

Yes - I had that email saying my BT Broadband was going up £2 in January, but if I recontracted now for another 18 months then the price would stay the same. Not sure it's a good deal as my current contract goes to May, and I only ever recontract for 12 months.

does this include line rental?

Can existing customers take this offer??

Shame for those waiting for Black Friday that the offer back in August was better

Yup. I signed up in August, and am mildly happy that I seemed to have got a better deal back then.

I'm a little dissapointed as I was waiting for this. Compared to ordering today I guess it's £25 cheaper and free BT Sport but I was expecting a little bit more.

So I guess this is how they’re spending the money from price increaes for existing customers...

Yes give your 30 days notice for the price rise then rejoin in your wifes name! You will have to take a new number though

Dont forget your £18.99 line rental to be included to this price 😔

Why would you take this over the Vodafone deal out of curiosity? The BT sports element?

The same happened for me. Paying £26.49 for infinity 1. They said £28.99 for same 18 months. There won't be any price hike affecting. This is the same price I will be paying following the price hike anyways. So don't think they offered me a good deal.

Vodafone Unlimited Fibre 76Mbps £0 LINE RENTAL £25 monthly all-in-one price for 18 months. No upfront fee. Seems very tempting. Anyone know of any catches?

Wouldn’t do anything for me as an existing customer . My tv due to change in March . Two many separate little charges ie caller display that you have to ring up for at different times of the year following the end of the 12 months free to try and renew .
Ended up sacking it all off , simplifying everything and going with vodaphone for 18 months at £20 Black Friday fibre 38 .
My bt fibre keeps dropping out upstairs .
Kept the bt 5 Mobile sims and no price increase on those I’m told albeit I got an automated email to say that they would increase by £5 a month . Advisor stated that they won’t due to the price increase off the fibre package .
We will see what vodaphone is like .

How much are they stinging for BT Sport in HD?

Yeah, not as good as it could be, but it depends on what else is available now to compare..

I got the same response...moved to £20 Vodafone deal from the Vodafone HUKD thread helped me a monthly saving of £30.00 per month.

How does this compare to virgin in service and performance

Got deal 2 for 28.99/£100 reward card/£111 topcashback in June. And only a 12 month contract. Good if you want the BT sport and don't mind 18 months locked in I guess though.

BT has the worse customer service and broadband reliability that I've ever had. My connection is comparable to dial up at times. Can't wait for my contract to end so I can go back to Virgin

Just to give some balance.

Recontracted with bt yesterday for the third year.

I hve their fibre package. Most stable connection I’ve ever had. Hit my sync rate speed no matter what time of the day it is. Never had any downtime in 3 years. Low pings and no jitter/packet loss.

2 miles down the road I know someone with virgin who had never had a stable connection in 5 years. Constant downtime, signals all over the place. Tv breaking up for months until there was a fix. Broadband would hit 200Mbps but was unstable. Poor upload.

Bt always give me a decent deal on re contract.

Same here. BT have been far more reliable than Virgin.

I’m still on the £21 SSE deal including all calls from May 2016 which ends next month. I pay BT for sport so may take a closer look at this as there has been no communication from SSE.

I'm still gutted my £21 a month SSE deal will be running out in a few months, it's been pretty solid for me and everything else for fibre is just more expensive atm

Ditto, just saw your post lol

This is virtually exactly what they've been offering for the past week.

Shame, was hoping for a genuinely good deal; hopefully Sky come up with something better.

The current reward cards offer higher amount than the op quoted: 125/150 for the infinity deals.

I managed to get a really good deal for BT retention but stupidly ended up declining it.
This worked for me but is time consuming....
1) Call BT ask for what offers they have when your contract is up/nearly up. Take them up on it (you have 14 days to cancel but I would check to make 100% sure)
2) Find a better deal with someone else like Virgin which you will find as you would be a new customer
3) Call BT back explaining you want to cancel and they will offer a better deal than virgin, then call Virgin etc.

Think my sky runs out in Jan, I'll go to BT.

The technical and billing support are useless, terrible and expect randomly charges as advertised a several months ago in newspapers as Vodafone is great for overcharging customers!

Slightly off topic but about 3 months back I took up the BT broadband deal let’s just say my Xbox gameplay is terrible and BT want 240£ to cancel it.

Given the supposed price hikes in January and the fact I’m already on a promotion deal, will I still be allowed to exit my contract free of charge at that time? Thanks

If they contact you mid-contract announcing a price hike, yes, you can leave without charge.

How the f**k is £28/month a deal? I'm outraged at sky upping mine to £18/month and was planning to swap for £10/month
