"Your free broadband modem router will allow you to share your Internet connection with another computer, laptop, games console or other Internet-enabled device.

Please note a dial-up modem wont work.

Up to 8Mb Broadband

If you are an existing customer interested in up to 8Mb broadband please note that your new high-speed broadband will work with nearly all types of router and modem.

However, to get the fastest, most reliable speed available on your line, we recommend you connect using Wi-Fi (wireless) or Ethernet - meaning the connection between your router and your computer and other networked devices, such as PlayStation - rather than using USB"

In the small print copied below it states:

For new customers, £89.99 charge for BT Hub with options 1 if ordered online or by telephone, when ordered at the point of sale. Free online or £25 by telephone with option 2 and free with option 3, when ordered at the point of sale. V220 or V210 free online, £25 with telephone orders, when ordered at the point of sale for option 1 customers only. V2500 or V2091 £25 online, £50 with telephone orders, when ordered at point of sale for option 1 customers only.
Existing customers: If the hub is ordered at the time of upgrade/regrade, the BT Hub is £89.99 if ordered online or by telephone with Option 1, it is free with option 2 if ordered online or £25 by telephone, it is free with option 3 if ordered online or by telephone.

*** If you are an existing option 3 or 4 customer and you have upgraded to our new 8Mb service prior to launch of BT Total Broadband then you get a FREE hub on option 3 and 4 via telephone.***

You need to phone BT for this and they will try to get out of it, but if you upgraded to 8meg prior to their rebranding as 'Total broadband'then they will have to give you one free and you wont have to regrade your contract.

If you are a BtYahoo customer already and been on adsl for a while do whot i did and say i was gonna go with Orange so got my hub/phone and a £3.00 a month discount. :-D

or just leave.......

You Could Leave but to tell the truth i havent had one problem with btyahoo compared to Other companies people use..............

I currently have a BT line with ADSL (Plusnet) and a wireless router.

I am just wondering if this can save me money - am I correct in thinking the following -

This would replace my router and give me the bonus of using a cordless phone to call via VOIP for free call to anyone (landlines? mobiles?).

The cost for the chose option plus the standard BT line rental correct?

Thanks, markluk
