What, why?

£49 activation fees! Jezz activate what?

I too seem to have trouble getting cashback from TCB. No problems with quidco though.

i have gone to BT through tcb and my cashback is showing on my account. just waiting for my vouchers.

I just signed up to BT this morning through quidco after 15 years with sky.
Not too fussed about the extra £70 on topcashback as I don't use that site much, Quidco has always been good enough.
Even taking into consideration the high activation fees of £55 for broadband and tv you are still only paying just over £250 (after £125 Sainsburys voucher and £140 quidco) for a year of unlimited Fibre, line rental and BT HD inc Kids bolt on for Disney channel and Nickelodeon. Don't forget the free Youview recording box and BT Sport so it's not a bad deal once the vouchers and money have come through.
Saying that, I was offered 33% off sky for 5 years and then 50% off for a year but that's still £55 a month for pretty much the same as I am getting through BT for £45 a month even before the £265 kickback.
Yes, in 12 months I will be leaving BT too so to bag a quidco Sky deal as these days loyalty counts for nothing.

For basic 38Mbps fibre internet it's 35/mo (18/mo service fee + 17/mo phone line)
That's 420/year + 30 for activation fee, so 450 for the first year

minus 125 "sainsbury gift card" makes it 325 - still pretty bad
minus 75 TCB cash back, IF YOU GET IT makes it 250/year

God I wish I could get virgin in my building. My flatmate (who had free BT internet) moves out in a month and I need to make an account...

Dunno what that's all about TCB plus members also get 5% extra so £220.50 plus £125 Sains voucher - tracks as 'faster paying' very very quickly.

Take that off the 12.50 x 12 + 49 + 6.95 + 169.90 (line rental paid up a year in advance) and it's effectively £2.53 a month. Insanely cheap with no tie in after the deal is over!

And as that's a year's contract and you can have BT Privacy free (which is basically caller ID and they register you with the TPS which quite honestly is easy enough to do yourself, but anyway).

Also the YouView box is yours after the contract is up AFAIK and if you need a new line installing it's free. I called then today about number porting unfortunately if from Virgin it can only be done at time of order which I seem to have missed somehow but anyway no big deal.

Thanks,
Signed up for this, just hope cash back works.

fancy switching suppliers, im out of contract with sky now so i will need to look seriously at BT.

this is going to sound really dumb but ive bee with sky for 5 years, when you change suppliers how hard is it to set up

How do you get BT Privacy as part of sign up? I couldn't see it when I looked. If you have to do it by ringing, you need a new 12m contract which is likely to invalidate the cashback.

when signing up does it give the option to pay thr phone line 12 months in advance at the highlighted price by a member above of £169?

Yes it does.

Sorted

I went for this - the unlimited data usage package for £23 a month - heat added to OP

the only thing I wanted to clarify is TCB offer to TCB plus members - are we sure this will pay out £220.50 instead of £210? Reading the terms of the offer it seems that the rates include any TCB plus incentive when logged in.....

I said I wasn't fussed about the extra £70 through topcashback, what I mean't to say was risking it with topcashback over quidco. I have had some non payment through topcashback but never through quidco so I would rather have the guaranteed £140 than a hopeful £200 plus.
Good on those who bagged a good deal. I suppose the key learning on this kind of deal is being loyal is pointless, shop around every year and swap without hesitation.

Some of this is a little confusing but I've worked out that the deal I signed up for is only costing me £165 for 12 months of unlimited fibre + calls + bt sport. I decided to stick with what I'd signed up for.

Yes sounds like a good deal overall Kapzar, we need to look at the overall cost after cash back and vouchers much like mobile phone deals and £165 for Line rental, tv, fibre broadband and bt sport is a great deal when you could sell the youview box after a year for about £50 too.
Mine cost more because I added the kids bolt on for the disney channel as that's all we watch in our house.

I rang up and they just added it on - kicks in the day after the line goes live. I got an order update email from BT about 5 min after I put the phone down. I have already signed up to a 12m contract and pre-paid line rental. TCB has tracked at £220.50 for me usual rate was £210.

Today the rates are £189 for plus members and sainsbury voucher is now only £100. Was a cracking deal!!!

i am on the TCB plus member trial and mine only tracked at £210

can I contact them ?

Depends what it was when you signed up - it should show the plus rate on the page. TCB are OK at dealing with queries... they don't always answer and just update the amount if there's a query.

trey upgraded me FOC for a trial n december

Never heard anything after placing order, so rang BT today.
They have record of the order but due to a system error, it would have to be cancelled and re ordered.
Guess what, that loses the Quidco £140 and the Sainsbury's £125 voucher so guess what...
I cancelled completely and told them where to stick it.
