18 month contract
Not a bad deal to be honest.. BT for me over the last 11 months has been rock solid. Credit where due!

It’s odd that you say that, I was just about to post that the Vodafone offer is better than this. We get around 68mbps actual speeds on ours. Maybe your area is not capable of the faster speeds yet? We pay £24 per month.
Just left bt rip off put my bill up avoid.
18 month ..Ou ..Bad bad.. Where 12 month gone?
Seems like theyre a thing of the past for fibre
Had bt, searched long and hard for the right deal. For a great Package, service was awful, drop outs every 20minites. Engineers not turning up for weeks. Took a basic package with plusnet(bt budget company) and the service is night and day. Excellent speed, had an issue engineer turned up that day....fixed it never had a problem since. Wouldnt bother with bt. Once they have you in that contract. Your screwed
BT are rubbish!!!! Nothing but problems from day 1

Speeds aren't the issue, it's reliability. It drops out at least once per day, guaranteed. It reconnects, but it's enough of a drop to interrupt whatever is happening. They won't do anything about it so I'm not going to stick with them.

Never had such an issue with BT when I was with them before

You're lacking a few commas there....

They informed customers about price increase and you always free to leave in case where price/speed promises not fulfilled.

In contrast I found BT technically fine. However, after the first year, they became VERY expensive.
I find BT fine, when my contracts up I look at virgin or other deals, call them, haggle and get a new price for 12-18 months. No issues.
Speed and reliability no problem either.

Excellent steady broadband incredibly poor customer service. I’ve just been promised that my billing issue has been resolved after first complaining in September 17. Not a bad price but doesn’t include sport in HD (why’s that extra in 2018) for 18 months.
Started this deal at £25.99 less than 6 months ago and they have already got the price up to over £31.

Dont say that im just about to switch from virgin to BT

I've been with BT for umpteen years, now out of my last 18 month contract but still with them. I wonder if I can get something similar to stick with them? Quite happy with connections, could be quicker but that is due to where I live.
Don't forget topcashback or quidco..
EE did much better deal for £33 per month fast broadband with no useless call package and £100 master card.

BT is so useless and clueless customer service as I have spent 2 hours to find if I am in contract or not for BB and Phone and only after filling a complaint I was guaranteed that I am out of contract as billing department mentioned one thing and the order process people completely different story - so complicated for them!!!
Bt home hub 6 is one of the worst router I have ever come across. Never works constantly on the phone to BT had two replacements still problems with WiFi, switching on & off and keeps dropping the Internet speed. Also my speed is supposed to be 25mbps but I get around 13mpbs as my house is too far away from the stupid exchange. In the evenings I get around 6-8 mpbs. Minimum speed is supposed to be 15mbps. Had 3 different engineers come out same answers over and over again.

You don't happen to have multiple telephone sockets in the house? I had OpenReach check my internal cabling, they found the cables fed 6 slave sockets installed by the developer, causing a 90% speed drop regardless of those slaves not actually being used. By disconnecting 5 slaves leaving the master and one slave the problem was resolved, speed drops off by just 2% at the slave and no loss at the master. Worth checking if you are suffering loss of speed. Router is connected to the slave behind tv and BT WholeHome supplies WIFI upstairs. The speed is a relatively constant 74mbps both from ethernet connected devices and WIFI devices from Infinity2.33227460-Ptvax.jpg

I think they may need to move closer to the exchange/cabinet. Changing the internal wiring won’t change that.

Internal wiring would indeed potentially improve their situation. Moving closer to the exchange will improve it further but at what expense?

Depends where you live.
i signed up december 31st for fibre to premises at £29.99... two days before the install date i still hadnt recieved my hub so i rang them up.... apparantly my order was still pending. wasnt even going through and noone had bothered to tell me. so they put through the order again and it was another 2 week wait....

i noticed a few days later the online tracking disappeared so i rang again... order was still pending. turns out they couldnt port my old number. once again noone bothered to tell me.... so i said fine lets have a new one... another new order placed... with an install date of feb 6th.. this time i had emails and confirmations and i recieved my hub so all looked much more promising.

i was by this point very sceptical so rang on friday 2nd to confirm they where definitely all on for feb 6th. yes they assured me. no problems.. so i checked online on monday 1st out of curiousity. since i had expected some kind of communication from the engineer...... i casually browsed down the tracking page and instead of feb 6th it said MAR 23rd!!!

so i was straight on the phone to BT.. the nice lady said that someone had to survey the area next week and then theyd get back to me.. i said forget it im not bothered anymore. she said sorry but its past the point of no return. the line is being transferred tomorrow.. it was then we realised that meant i was losing my existing internet.. so now ive got no internet at all and a vague date at the end of march. what a complete shambles...

Nope. Just one main socket by front door. The other one socket upstairs is disconnected as BT did it many years ago when infinity was installed. Can't get virgin as still classed as new area and we are on there list for 2019-2021. The only other solution is move house or bring the exchange closer. I am not selling my or moving house for better Internet. Also had 3 hub 5's last year and all 3 in space of 2 months failed and then upgraded to hub 6. Now ethernet port 3 & 4 have failed. New one arrives on Monday now.
Ordered mine 21 November, finally installed end of January. Complete shambles from start to finish really but at least we're now set up and our costs were reimbursed. It was supposed to be a smooth internal transfer from one property to another but it was fraught with one issue after another caused by someone inadvertantly signing off the infrastructure on a new development and BT having rigid inflexible automated processes with no manual override. If you're experiencing issues I would urge you to write to the chief executive of OpenReach, I'll leave you to search his details so I dont infringe any rules here but it will result in your complaint being escalated to the highest level within BT. Good luck.

Yep been with them for 20 years also right from the start, went through may names until virgin took over. Service has went down hill ever since, BT better not let me down fingers crossed.
Poor deal. Cold.
That's interesting!! Why has one of my comments disappeared from this thread???

Pretty consistent speeds. Rarely see them dip below 68/16..

Can you do a latency test? speeds arent the problem.
Good deal - but need to pay for the youview box if you don’t have sky - which is another £50
