Found 12th Aug
My contract for BT infinity 50mb with weekend calls and no TV for 27.99p/m ends up on 4th Sept.

So I phoned today customer service and informed them that I will not be extending my contract with them. I got transferred to Glasgow office customer value team and informed them that ee has 40mb for 26£ pm with 130£ cashback from topcashback which works out as 18£ pm.

I got one time fantastic best ever offer for 21.99 pm.

You can have Now Broadband, which is basically same as BT because they using openreach cables cheaper, with 12 12 months contract instead of 18.
I did something similar and have had a nightmare with bt for the last 3 weeks. Don't do it.
I got mine for £21.99 a month with BT sports for 18 months and also Free evening and weekend calls, also got £50.00 credit as well so all good

Not sure why this is cold as this as good a deal as you can get.

I get 75mb broadband for £21.99 plus a £50 MasterCard.

I’ve been with BT for 3 years and not had one issue

Great deal OP
I'm also with Bt and haven't had any issues. Was with sky previously and had nothing but problems, BT was alot cheaper for us although it does help that our bills are next to nothing compared to the extremely high Sky bill
BT are probably the worst company for customer service. Got a bill for £360 from them despite already agreeing that I can get out of contract for free.
The call centres also don't seem to have any British people working in them any time I ring. Should be called India telecom.

How do you get the MasterCard, thought that was for new customers only.

When they offer you the retention deal you get the MasterCard offer. Then it arrives within 28 days

Is that something you had to ask for or was it offers automatically?
PS - got the same deal but with free BT sports on sky. 18 months deal.

Just part of the retention deal

After I started a switch to virgin they rang and offered me the deal to stay.

Virgin deal was £25 a month so this deal was better

I can’t see any broadband deal out there that offers same speed for price

But they’re not cheaper than this deal though
Better than mine, I got told to make love to myself and I wasn't getting any sort of a deal from them, went to Plusnet for a year and now coming back to get another mastercard and cashback.
Better than the £31.99 renewal that was the best they would offer me last week

£18.99 line rental and £3.00 for the rest
Love that people vote cold but can’t post a better deal!
I got same deal but 72mpbs and bt sports on sky and BT tv, 21.99 a month

From my experience BT are awful for speeds. Same would apply to sky, talk talk etc. Only virgin gives you half decent speeds. Best one I’ve come across is a company call hyperoptic

I received an email from BT informing me their prices were rising so I could end my contract by giving them notice. I called and said I wanted to give notice and the best price they would offer is £31.99! They seems to care little about loyal customers and will only do deals when you are at the end of your current contract. I think they assume you won't go through with it or will attempt to charge you. I recorded the whole conversation I had with them to cover myself! Trust no-one these days!

Same as HotBot, I also received the very same email and I phoned them up to see what they could offer me by way of retention and the best they would offer was also £31.99.

So, I have just phoned that retention line this morning and the bloke flatly refused to budge from the offer that they were offering in the email (£33.99 p/m, which is even worse!!).

I don't know how you guys are managing to get these offers as they are not even coming close for me (nor others it would seem). My contract actually expires on 2nd September also so I would have thought that would have placed me in a stronger bargaining position. I was actually wanting to stay as I have been happy with the service/speed, but there are too many better offers out there and I think I have flogged this horse as much as I can, so I am bailing (most likely on to the Now TV package).

I am at the end of my contract mate and they ain't offering me any better. I tried all the approaches that others on here have by quoting comparable deals but the fella simply didn't want to budge. I think a lot of its about timing, and who you speak to at the end of the day....
Keep trying, took me 3 goes to get that price, they may only have so many deals they can offer per day or something

Not everyone is lucky enough to live in area where virgin is available..

Or just switch to Plus.net, which is BT anyway, then after that contract ends (or they increase the price) switch back to BT if they are offering a good deal.
Update on my previous....was all ready to go with the NOW TV Fab package (£20 p/m) and decided I'd give BT one last call before submitting. Managed to close a deal on their Infinity 2 fibre package with free weekend calls and free BT sports for £25.99 p/m. Saves the hassle of switching and we are consistently getting 75mbps download speeds our line currently (which the NOW TV package won't get near) so happy with that.
I just rang up mention this retention deal said hold the line came back on and stated “yea I can give you that” well pleased saves me chasing around

Watch out. I was signed up to original deal after agreeing £23.99 for superfast 2, landline, weekend calls

Because you’re not doing it right!! You have to initiate a switch.

They then phone you after around 5 days with this deal

If you had gone through with the switch you would have got the deal advertised on here
I can confirm that I got this deal by asking for the retention deal at £21.99 per month and they gave me infinity 2 speeds for that price on 18 month contract

Sorry, not sure I understand what you mean. Watch out for what exactly?
Well I’ve just tried retention’s to get a better deal the best price for broadband (infinity 2) line rental, basic entertainment pack ( required to get Bt Sport) was £33.00. I pointed out that new customers could get the same deal for £29.99 and some people are only paying £21.99 but the guy wouldn’t or couldn’t budge. Think I’m going to go with Plusnet at £18.99 for broadband and line rental though the speed isn’t as fast as any. I have a funny feeling that when I tell Bt I’m leaving I might get an improved deal though I’m not holding my breath! It does seem they don’t want to look after loyal customers I’ve been with them 8 years
I called the retentions number and managed to get £25.99 (I am not in a low cost area so options are more limited) so decided to stay. So it is well worth a call to them to see what you can get.

I’m in the same boat as you I’ve been pretty happy with bt but it annoys the hell out of me that new customers get a better deal than existing ones plus some people are paying well below the £34 I’m being quoted which includes by sport. Think I’m going to jump ship to Plusnet and not bother about the footy think you can get broadband and line rental for £18.99 plus cash back
