BT existing mobile customers getting offered extra data and/or faster 4g for free..

If you ain't done this recently i recommend you call BT's dedicated mobile department and you should be offered either extra data and/or faster 4g at no extra cost.

I've just had 5 sims @ £16 a month with unlimited calls and texts upgraded from 20gb to 25gb the other option was 20gb and faster 4g

Customer service adviser said most people on these contacts are been offered this the now..be it they are new sims or older ones.. (4 of my sims I've had since september the other only a couple of weeks) and there is deals for other contacts holders too..

Each contact is different, so you may be offered a different deal to me but as its free to call, so you've nothing to loose... and if they dont offer it this month try again next month as everyone individual monthly offers renew every 21 days (if i mind correctly as i wasnt entitled last month but am now)

i was phoning about something else and was offered it as it showed on my account as something to offer me.. as i say one sim is within dates for cancelling but the rest aint so it def available to everyone..

the number you need is 0800 800150.. not sure if this can be done on chat but worth a try..
Opening hours
Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am - 6pm

Good Luck!

edit... on the call i was offered extra speed or the 5gb extra data but when i checked my email i seen this..

Your new BT Mobile planThanks for asking us to change your BT Mobile 20GB Plan with Extra Speed to BT Mobile 25GB Plan with Extra Speed 4G for mobile number ***********

This plan gives you 25GB of data with Extra Speed 4G, unlimited access to BT Wi-fi, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts.

We've had confirmation other contracts are getting deals too..

Sambat says..1

Also, if you are on the £8 deal for Infinity customers (£13) non-infinity, you can get your data raised from 2gb to 4gb by request.

Member diggeroony: says..
Just rang CS my plan is 6gb for £12 but is now showing online as 10gb £12, the guy on the phone said his system was only showing 8gb £12 so i got an extra 2gb for no extra cost.

And as I said above if you're unlucky this month try again next month as individual offers renew each month.. My next mission is to see if I can get bt TV starter deal as I could do with a new bt TV box...

Been with BT Mobile for two years now, but only got the one sim £12(6gb), be good to get extra data with this, I’ll give this a try, thanks.

Love be seeing these deals posted and the costs against the new monthly offers especially after this weeks virgin deal you can certainly see how they can afford to offer extra data :

What's faster 4G? Is 4G usually a pay option or do they teir their 4G service?

this explains the difference 4g.co.uk/how…4g/

That doesn't explain what faster 4G in the context of this offer is.
Is this 4G that's faster than 3G or do they offer standard 4G and faster 4G?

Started off as 5Gb unlimited everything else for £4 with virgin and then they offered 40Gb 5000 mins and unlimited texts for a tenner. All 30 days deals. Those seem a great deal you got, glad the cash back came through.

cracking deals from virgin there is an option for me to move everything to a family sim so 4 out of 5 became 30 day contracts .. without that i wouldnt have signed up cause i know if there is any price hikes i can still get out of them.. was tempted to move them and then cancel and collect on the cashback and vouchers.. but at the money im paying im actully happy enough

By default, BT (and probably most operators) limit 4G speed to 30 mbps. With faster speed, you get up to 60 mbps.

The extra speed 4g made my speeds slower when on it but when with EE 4gee I was bang on 60mbs. Makes no sence.

Interested to know how you get on as I've been with them a while too and been offered Jack.. ..

I didn’t think I was on their fast 4G but I did a speed test and had 50mb download and 19mb upload. Won’t complain at that!

Delighted for you. Hope others try and find they too can get similar free upgrades

I left Bt mobile when they would not give me as good a deal as a new customer. When my contract was finished , I rang and they offered more data , and faster 4g but still would not give me as good a deal as if i signed up as a new customer.. Seems they dont care about keeping old customers !!!

I had similar and customer services actually advised I could only achieve this if closed my old account and became a new customer again so I could get the deal I wanted.. They explained they couldnt offer the 12 month contract I wanted and this was only way to do it.. And that's what I did..with their help to make sure it went smoothly.. There is a discussion I made that it explains it all in more detail.. That can be found here hotukdeals.com/dis…781

Called up and she said normally 3 months before a contract ends is when deals are triggered on the account.

So will call back in a few months and see what i can get out of them. Or might call back next month and see if theres anything on my account.

Super deal -
I've got 3 family SIMs - just rung the number above and gone from 2Gb 500/unlimited for £25 to 4Gb unlimited/unlimited for £23. (price after £5 Broadband customer discount)
Yes my data has doubled and the price has gone down !!!!
No arguments, new 12 month contract (but my contract was ending in November anyway)

i'm sorry nothing is showing on you this month but that customer service advisor is talking nonsense to some extent.. shes right deals are triggered at the end of contracts but as you can see they also trigger throughout the contract too... maybe they not been there long enough to know different or maybe they just a jobsworth who for what ever reason doesn't want to offer you anything.. id be inclined to try again when you get a min or for sure next month..

just incase anyone is put off thinking these are new contracts we all been offered i feel i should point out because you're in that time frame for upgrading to a new contract ie. the last month of your contract a new contract is what you'll get offered.. out with those times they will not make it a new contract and the original dates apply... delighted you're happy with your retention deal

Standard 4g is is 30Mbps, faster is 60! And you will notice the difference...

Does taking up the extra data constitute a new 12 month contract? I’ve been out of contract for nearly a year And don’t really want to renew and just carry on as a rolling monthly

I was told by Bt this morning in 12 months you can increase your plan twice & decrease it once. I changed my plan today and my end date is still the same.
Edited by: "diggeroony" 4th Nov

Now I might be a bit fuzzy but I went into the BT mobile app and then went via it to manage my online account and walked away with 30gb and unlimited everything else for £20. Previously I was on 15gb with unlimited for £16. I think I also have double speed. It's a new 12 month contract.

that's a current upgrade deal the now as i was also offered that too but without needing to have a new contract because I'm not at the end of mine .. guessing you must be or they trying to sell you a new sim... if its the former and your at the end of your contract it unlikely you will get offered anything other than retention deals

in our case it doesn't but as you are out of contract i doubt they will offer anything other than retention deals.. i know that was certainly the case when i was still with ee and trying to hang on to my loyalty bonus

these upgrades are free and not new contracts as long as you have a contract still to run and ain't in the upgrade/retention period (or what ever you call it.. im getting tired and brain cogs no turning so quick the now )..it changes nothing just give you more for your bucks..
Edited by: "sheps" 5th Nov

I have 4 * BT sims on 6gb Unlimited. 2 recently renewed, 2 new contracts. All are showing as able to add Extra Speed 4G at a monthly cost of £4 a month each (for the add-in).

So are BT adding this for free if you call up?

What story do you give them. Complain about current speed?
