Just came across this deal which I think is an excellent price, they wanted to put my mums plan up to £27.49 a month, but failed to tell her about this deal, it is an 18 month contract, but considering the line rental is almost this price makes it a no brainer.

What you get:
Your monthly line rental
Unlimited calls to UK landlines at any time, for up to an hour
Inclusive calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers at any time, for up to an hour
Free 1471 Call Return
Inclusive 1571 Call Return if you have the BT Answer 1571 voicemail service
BT Privacy with Caller Display and Anonymous Call Reject for free when you opt-in
You can pay for Home Phone Saver 2019 by any means of payment.

i think the BT low user option is about this much per quarter, rather than monthly

I've had a look at the BT basic package for my mum as she's a pensioner living by herself but she didn't qualify for it, from what i can gather you need to be on in work or out of work benefits

My Mum didn't qualify either, plus the Basic one is great with the line rental reduced, but you get £4.50 worth of calls a month, that goes quickly, especially with a pensioner by themselves who like to talk to friends. for me this deal was the best option.

Voted hot as I like people who look after their parents.

Does your mum not get pension credit then?

i'm fairly sure that's a qualifying benefit because i also looked at it for my mum and they said she did qualify

Shame that so many have voted cold against this, I honestly believe this is a good deal, with line rental included, this is only another £3 on top of that with unlimited calls. Can't see any other deals that will offer this.

Just scrapped fixed line for my Mum. Just used mobile now for £5 a month. Saving her a fortune from rip off BT.

why didnt you apply for bt basic ??? line rental for the elderly and people on benefits £5.15 per month ( £15.45 a quarter )

Seems a decent deal but BT annoy me with all their contracts for parts of the service ending at different times. So you can end up with a 12 month broadband contract, 18 month Home Phone contract, 12 month free BT privacy, 12 month Line Rental saver, all ending at different times. Makes it difficult to switch, which I guess is the idea. Hopefully soon everything will be rolled into one contract.

BTW BT Basic is only for those on benefits - not the elderly, unless they are on Pension Credit to qualify for which they need to be on quite a low income.

funny my gran was getting bt basic and she wasnt on any state pension?

BT basic is ok if you don't use the phone much, but if you go over, it could soon as up.
