Just add to your existing router but it would better to set it up as a new wi-fi network and turn your old wi-fi off (not router) once you're happy with the new wi-fi network.

it is a mesh wifi network. Superior to a single router.

Unless you live in a small house with no thick walls no router will give you full coverage in a house.

These are mesh access points which are designed to give full coverage and great speeds, something a traditional router cannot do so well due to being limited to being a single device.

One plugs into your existing modem/router and then connects wirelessly to the second, third, forth, fifth etc of these that you may need to cover all the space in your house.
Mesh, Smesh. Just a poncy network extender really.

These are Wireless access points with very basic tech inside, basically chained range extenders so this is why they are sold so cheaply. They are in no way at all MESH despite what people are incorrectly saying here.

You get what you pay for with products like this, these BT wireless access points are total trash. Solutions like the Netgear Orbi are light years ahead and will over time be much better value,

Sorry but your talking rubbish whole home uses IEEE802.11k/v the WiFi standard required and used in mesh networks to help steer wifi devices between mesh points. It's also very affordable a lot more so than netgear orbi has ever been. Spec's for whole home are good for the price with Dual band 4x4 MIMO AC2533, 2.4ghz & 5ghz both using 256QAM just like netgear, WiFi steering using standard EEE802.11k/v. Get sick of people slating this and then suggesting alternatives which cost 3 times as much yet people always fail to mention orbi while set you back around £300 for two units and unifi access points with similiar wifi speeds will cost you around £200 a unit.

Clearly affordability is your biggest gripe as beyond highlighting some basic specs on paper you did nothing but complain about price rather actually provide any compelling reason how this basic BT range extender would in any price beat a solution like Orbi in real world performance. There are multiple Orbi solutions (for different ranges and budgets) for a lot cheaper than you are highlighting but of course that doesn’t suit your argument so you left it out

its comparing apples and oranges at the end of Day as simply no comparison. I would just urge people to do some basic research online between solutions like BT and Orbi before choosing the cheapest solution .When it comes to coverage with the best speeds you get what you pay for without doubt with these solutions. I have owned this BT solution and it is simply blown out of water by the Orbi solution I bought 2 months ago in both coverage and especially the speeds provided.
Question is how does this compare to Google Wifi??
