Not sure if a glitch however, Infinity 1 is available for 30.99 with a 9.99 fee. Went to checkout, and no 9.99 fee is added. Interestingly, on the final page it says speeds upto 76mb which is infinity 2... free upgrade on a technicality?

So now paying 30.99 for the next 24 months rather than 27.99 for the next 6 months, then 49.99 after and no guarentee you'll get a better price without service interruption. No hassle with asking for a better price at time of renewal either, now locked in. Worth a check.

It's a deal for me either way.

It depends what situation you're in I suppose. I was paying 27.99 (I was getting 52mb, not 38mb). But for the difference of £3 a month to be tied in for 24 months it made sense. The base prices are increasing all the time

I'm only capable of receiving 60mb, so Infinity 2 serves no purpose either but will check with them as it states on the final page that it's 76mb.
Phoned to cancel bt and they offered me the same but I refused because for the new customer it will work out cheaper than that. Going to move to others, still looking
Not voting either way but would have thought that you would be able to negotiate a good deal in 6 months and if not you take your custom elsewhere. I always look to move away at the end of a contract. I recently moved from BT was paying £33.00 after last price increase. I moved to virgin media (I know that this is not an option for everyone) and the deal I have now is £40.00 per month for full house including bt sport, 200mbs download speeds (without drop outs). In addition a free TV and £220.00 cashback (have the tv still waiting for the cashback) 12 month contract.

So OP you opted to pay higher price for the next 6 months to secure the £30.99 monthly price for 2 years!
I don't think it is a good price, as there are many offers giving lower prices for fibre BB!
Rang up to cancel mine and was offered infinity 1 on a 24 month contract for £26.99. ended up canceling and getting the TCB through broadband genie
I just got a 12 month deal 26.99 for 12 months I was paying 31.50 after price rise. I am on infinity 1 but get infinity 2 speed, due to the speed upgrade late last year. I also got a SIM deal with 1 gb data unlimited min and text for 5 gbp

Who/How/What did you ask for to be offered that deal? I thought phone deals do not include cashback?

Yeah, mainly for the convenience. Happy with the service too, not skipped a beat.

I am going to query the upto 76mb though, even better if that is honoured.

New customers get it cheaper if TCB tracks and you get the Mastercard. But let's not forget the base fee is higher, the set up is £60 too. So on the 52mb, it works out at £32pm for 18 months. Then, if cashback tracks it's cheaper and costs £27.93 a month. So not that great a deal for new customers.
Just for those looking to haggle, I let my contract end then rang up 10 days later when bill had increased to £50 for the month (was paying £29.99 previously for 52MB with standard TV package) and complained at what new customers were being offered.

They:

Refunded me for overpaying this month (£20)
Offered me 76MB same deal for £30.99 a month but also get HD bt sport for the entire period.

So some haggling can be done.

Yes people say it’s impossible now to get free BT Sport in HD for 18 months with your broadband but persistence is they key as well as continued negotiations.

hotukdeals.com/deals/free-32-tv-virgin-media-bundles-quidco-cashback-virgin-media-2873465

how do i get free tv and quidco both? following above link only gives me free tv option and if i come from quidco, i do not see free tv option

What I did was...clear cookies. Fire up quidco, go to virgin media go through most of the process (can't remember exactly to what point but it will be clear when you are doing it because you get to the point just before you start putting your payment details in). Then go through the TV link in another tab and sign up including your bank details. Go back to quidco tab and finalise. It will "fool" the cookies and complete the process. I have had confirmation that both have tracked but cannot guarantee that I will receive both.

Got a leaflet through today. Some deals are better via
