BT infinity 2 (76mb) retention deals - £25.40

Found 10th FebEdited by:"gp2"
As in title, all in with a new 2 year contract, pay line rental a year in advance, works out 25.4 pounds a month. You also got possible BT incentive (BT sport, weekend call etc). Compare with 24 pounds/month vodafone, just a bit more expensive but better router, weekend call, bt sports, bt hotspot. I am pretty sure they'd increase price during the two year contract, so you can end it early if you find a better one.

I know a lot of people'r on the bt deals last march/april. It might be of help to you guys.

ps: bt sport might not be free with broadband anymore, but with a reduced subscription

Does £25.40 include the line rental? If so a great deal. I’m paying £15 monthly charge free sports and free HD with line rental it’s £33.99 per month. If it doesn’t it’s not a good deal at all.

I think that includes line rental
"You can get speeds up to 17.5Mb with our Unlimited Broadband, and you can get BT TV" only 17Mb????? NO THANK YOU
Thanks for posting. Did you phone up and get this or is it on their site somewhere? Couldn’t see it clicking through?
is the 5g screeching noise sorted on the new router. Drives me insane if anyone goes on the 5g Wi-fi.
Can you provide breakdown please, from memory line rental in advance is about £207?
do you have any sims, and did you renegotiate them at the same time?
sorry for all the questions, but mine is due end March so just getting ready for negotiating next deal. Thanks

if you want a break down, it's 17.4 (line rental)+ 8 (broadband)=25.4
I think it's 2nd cheapest 76mb broadband on the market at the mo... I am one of those who took the BT crazy fibre price last March, and have no comment abt their customer service (is it indian call centre?) coz never need to call them, so I am thinking of staying with them rather than move to vodafone.
They didn't want to make any offers to me so now leaving. Told me there are no deals available so you can leave if you want too I said yep I'm offski.

£8 for 76 download from BT is a fantastic deal. Can you screen shot this offer. Sounds too good to be true.

Exactly the same for me I went to plus net. Everything works fine with plus net and no problems with setup transfer etc.
If you leave the service ( due to mid contract price rise ) you loose left over line rental ...?
Price is set to rise every year, so you tie yourself in to tale any price rise they do, otherwise you loose all line rental.
i pay 25.99 for infinity 2 inc line rental, dont need to pay in advance for line rental just pay monthly, its called infinity 1 but got a feee boost to infinity 2 which i think everyone got for free

I'm looking to try vodaphone. I told them I was concerned about the current reliability issues and they said you have the first month to cancel if it's no good so going to try them. Worth a go at there prices.

Take it you didn't read this is for Infinity 2 Fibre not Unlimited Broadband. You are quoting Broadband speeds and prices.

Are you sure of this..? When I was taking Plusnet ( BT brand ) I was told (in writing) by them that I will loose line rental.
Don't take their word for it. Get it in writing that you won't loose line rental if you leave due to price rise.
I'm on fiber to home 76mb. Pretty sure I have another 9 months to run. Think I can give this a go to lock in longer?
Cold from me.. Why?

1) Retention, so not available for everyone, hit and miss ..
2) 2 Year contract
3) Line rental upfront payment required

Better deal from vodafone for 76mbps fibre, unlimited usage

vodafone.co.uk/pac…11d

£24 per month
Available to everyone
£0 one off fee
No upfront line rental payment required

I know lot of people hate vodafone for their customer service, but there are same as many BT haters for the same reason.

Personally I had no previous bad experience with BT or Vodafone , both have been good to me.

You can get a refund due to a price rise

"Ofcom tells us: “Following recent price rises, customers should have the option to exit their contracts without penalty. This means people should receive a pro-rata refund of any line rental paid upfront. We have spoken to BT and it has assured us that customers will be given this option.”

Thanks ..my bt drops and goes slow so will go to Vodafone..with bt for the discount at the time with card a year ago..
what is the price hike ..so I can move sooner
I tried the Vodafone switch from BT recently and Vodafone failed to make the switch, I received the router and a service start date, they cancelled the order without telling me, Customer Service then couldnt explain it, promised to call me back with it all sorted - never did. Based on my experience, avoid Vodafone.

... re: this deal, just rang BT retentions and the best they could offer was £26.99 p/m for 76mb - 24 month contract - still not bad...

we are talking about the same deal... 26.99 normal price but if you go for line rental saver (pay yearly rental in one go), the price drops to 25.4

basically you pay 208.8 pounds for a year line rental on the phone... then the monthly direct debit's 8 pounds.
What number did you ring on?

I would have gone for Vodafone deal also but I had a bad black Friday experience with them on a mobile contract, so they can do one.

They were trying to make out I was getting a great deal because of this supposed free upgrade to Infinity 2 as part of this deal.. Even though I am an existing customer and already have it.

I've voted this cold anyway as 24 months is a ridiculous amount of time to be locked in to a broadband contract, especially with a company that is as incompetent as BT.

Just been denied the deal
Offered £38.99
Just switched to Vodafone

Bt pricing frustrates me. Adevertised price £49.99. Best bt could do for me is £41.50 per month. Then some people say they can get it for £25.40 !!!
Really hit and miss pricing from bt, bt should not be allowed to charge people whatever they can get away with.
Just been offered £38 or so as well, no option of £27

They're a joke, tried BT again and they offered £44 for 24m - totally random it seems !!

Not looking to champion BT but I took the BT infinity deal posted here roughly this time last year and I haven't had a problem at all. Customer Service was good today, too (however, I wasn't trying to resolve an issue).
Lose not loose. Some people need to go back to school.
Cheapest I can get it for 76mb is 44.99, so not such a great deal at all
Just got 24mths @ £25.95 for infinity 2. Refused the first offer of £35 and gave a mths notice, then they came up with a manager's special 🙄
Just got £32.99 for 18 months Infinity BT Infinity 2 Mb Inc BT Sport

1. yes, it's a long contract, but based on past 5 years, you can leave your contract in abt 10 months time

2. hit and miss problem. You need to make sure you talk to RETENTION/CANCELLATION depart, not upgrade/sale department. MSE has a good guide to tell you what to say and steps to do. Try a few more times if you fail the first one. It's not like mobile phone contract retention, which the deal based on the personal usage. If you pay the bill on time, i cannot see why you cannot get the deal I got.

3. customer service wise, i'm under impression you can NOT go any lower than vodafone, although I do understand BT's not saint at all. Less obvious coz both attract negative feedback, but I am under impression, BT's reliability's better than vodafone.

4. BT's router's a lot better than vodafone, especially on the wifi part. This's fact everyone agrees from what I read.

5. BT get some incentive like discount on tv, sim card, free weekend call, free hotspot, free caller display to justify 1.4 pounds more than vodafone.

I had about 20 different problems, of which three were unbelievable.

Good for you, that's a great deal. I just tried again and even referred to this deal and they couldn't do better than £37, so selective, so I'm also offski to Vodafone
