BT are offering people dicounted line rental of £8.54 per month if you sign up for a further 12 month contract.

THIS OFFER IS NOT ONLINE AND IS ONLY AVAILABLE AT THE END OF CONTRACT.

I basically mentioned the new O2 landline deal, threatened to leave and this is what they offered me.

The offer includes free evening and weekend calls and 0870 numbers.

The deal also inludes friends and family mobile add on which is usually £1.49 extra (you may have to ask extra nicely for this).

The other bonus is that the credit all arrives on your 1st bill.

Saves you the hastle of swapping to 02 doesnt it!!!

Very nice but what do we click when we get on the bt website? Can't find this offer at the moment.

I assume that is before vat, which will take it to £10 per month.

I'm on a rolling contract with BT for phone and broadband, I received a letter from BT this morning asking me if I wanted to sign up to another 12 month contract just phoned up and just continue or drop out and you pay more for your phone package ( monthly charge )

If only anyone could find this offer :(:(:(

I'm signed up for 12 months because I took up the free evening/weekend calls offer.
But I really wonder if their recent change of terms for evening calls (free from 7pm instead of 6pm) would constitute a material change which would allow you to cancel the contract under the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations. I'm not that bothered about moving for financial reasons, but it really annoys me that they did this. Worth noting that O2 thinks that the evening starts at 6pm.

does this deal actually exist?????

proof please!!
:whistling:

I think they've been ringing up offering people this? They phoned about five times for me and when they finally got hold of said "okay" when I asked them to stick some info in the post - haven't had it through yet though...

Yeah I have moved 4 times in 2 years and somehow I am still tied into a contract despite having the same account number etc since everytime I move they start a new contract.

Just shows you how odd the voting is here on HotUK. +67 deg for something which doesn't even exist!

I bet this was put here by someone from BT!

The only offer I can find is for new customers, if you take phone + broadband with 3 months free. Line rental £11.50 per months with 3 months free brings the price down to £8.60, but you would have to pay for their super-expensive broadband (can't be bothered finding out how this is).

This deal is misleading and complete RUBBISH

Should be spammed.

OP's last post was defending BT so treat with caution

You must have agreed to the contract at the outset.

I left BT years ago when I realised that their billing systems
were designed to confuse.
I see nothing has changed.

You have to phone them and tell them you are defectingto another provider.

I joined MyPostoffice £24.99 incl unlimited Internet/Line Rental free weekend and evening calls to Landlines and free calls to Mobiles at weekends...

I was moving and on being told that at the new address I would automatically start a 12m contract I threatened O2 (this was before O2 had even launched) and was offered this deal.

Should say though that there was no sign of the promised -36 on the first bill so I am going to have to chase it.

Should say the 8.54 was £3 per month off on O2 price match and 1.xx off for signing up for online billing.
