Might be too niche for some of you HUKDers but it works for me. Lots of 30-40GB deals on the market at the moment, but personally I wouldn't stray from EE / BT / Virgin (just based on my own experience with these, Three & Vodafone). I've just spoken to BT Mobile for a better deal on my daughter's sim only contract, which only started in November 2017. This is what they gave me:

Ongoing charges for this order
BT Mobile 35GB Plan with Extra Speed 4G £23.00
BT Broadband Discount -£5.00
Total ongoing charges for this order £18.00

Your new plan starts on
: 21-Jan-2018
Your contract is for: 12 Months and will end on 05 Nov 2018

This isn't available through the customer service centre in South Wales, so they transfer you to a different team in Accrington. By the way, I cancelled my BT broadband TEN months ago!!

I get 30gb (plus 5gb data boost because I have EE broadband) so a total of 35gb data for £18.
I also have 2 more sims on the account that are costing me £5 a month with a thousand minutes each and 1gb data each.
The best bit about it is that I can "gift" data between counts as and when required so it the family members are running low on the 1gb then I just gift them a few GB.
Also free BT sport and their fastest 4g speeds.
Essentially 3 x 12gb sims with added flexibility for under a tenner each.
I was offered extra 4G speed...l thought it was a sales gimmick and laughed at the sales woman with the words yeah right whatever..! Am l mistaken..?
Depends on usage but Their 4g is plenty fast.I watch Netflix and YouTube at full quality no problem.
If you will be tethering in addition then it may help.

Is this gifting option through BT or EE? I have a 30GB sim with BT which I pay £16 a month for and then 4 x 2GB sims on the family sim plan, 2 of which regularly use up all their data (teenage daughters), so would be handy to be able to gift some of my 30GB which I never use.
EE I'm afraid.
It was a retention deal but I rang up at a later date to get the second fiver sim.
It is ideal for kids. Mine is also for a teenage daughter. You get additional controls such as blocking purchases, blocking international usage/content lock and even blocking the Internet access altogether so they study when they supposed to be studying.
Extra speed is garbage with BT I got it added and my speed went down. From 29mbs to under 20mbs. E E is much better for speeds despite using the same infrastructure .

Getting 56Mbs download and 17Mbs upload in Chester. Astonishingly, I get very similar results at my caravan in a field in rural Denbighshire where they've only just got BBC2 in the village! BT Mobile has always been excellent in my experience.
I just spoken to BT Mobile value team and no such deal exists and would not budge
I got this deal, as an existing customer, some months ago, ironically when I left BT Broadband. If at first you don't succeed ... call again or try a different number.

Worth another try possibly. I didn't have to negotiate, it was offered to me. Might be on a case by case basis.

The blurb says standard 4G is 30Mbps max & Extra speed is 60Mbps max
Put £7 more and get 100GB data on three :P

Not too sure how a BT customer would do this mid-term on their contract without shelling out a lot of dosh....!

Vodafone and TalkMobile are on the same network and found Vodafone ok, as they share masts with o2.
Three are shocking as well, only get 1 bar of 3g in my area, whereas I get full 4g on o2/Voda

Experience of the networks is often about customer service or coverage. I can honestly say I've had great & lousy customer service from all of them except EE & BT Mobile, who have been consistently good with me (others will of course have had a different experience!). The only times they've "let me down" was when they couldn't match a deal on price, so I left & returned 12 months later. Regarding network coverage, I've found O2, Vodafone & Three to be very hit & miss. O2, TalkMobile (now effectively obsolete) & Vodafone 3G / 4G signal fine at home in a small Cheshire town, but appalling in a semi-rural village 4 miles outside town. Three 4G in Cardiff where my kids are studying was absolutely perfect...... outdoors, & not available inside buildings! EE / BT has been consistently spot on for me, to such an extent that 1 day last week when I had no signal for 10 minutes I was shocked! iPhone rebooted & all perfect again

It's because they artificially throttle it if you don't get the extra speed.

You're not actually getting something extra, you're paying for what you get for free on other networks. I can pull 100Mb/s on Vodafone without paying extra.33111837-JTy6G.jpg

Those looked like mind blowing numbers to me so I thought I'd run a test myself. Interesting results 😳

BT doesn't seem to throttle their 4G speed. I use BT phone sim and the speed is actually faster than the other EE fastest 4g data sim I have for mifi. EE advertise fastest 4G and normal 4G and even though I pay for the fastest 4G, I get lower speed than a normal BT 4G sim...

Have 100gb for £16 on three network. Had no issues with reception
Just phoned up and they offered me this but I went with £16 for 25GB instead. Not as good value for money but I average 8-10GB a month so the £2 saving is better.

I don't need 35GB either, so I share 30GB on EE with my wife & we still wind up with 10GB+ spare! My son & daughter on the other hand will have no issues streaming well beyond 20GB. Seeing as I pay their contracts, I'd much rather know they have enough data (there's a £5 spending cap on each contract so I won't be massively stung if they go beyond)

Yeah good idea!

I have WiFi at work and at home but still a nice buffer to have if I need to tether.
I’ve just spoken to BT Mobile value team and there is no such a deal exists it costs £30 for this deal

It did at 12pm.

It varies by account as the guy was shocked at mine "I've never seen so many deals available on an account".

Cos they are awful. In the middle of Glasgow and I struggle to load web pages. Three different phones on the same network all with the same issue. Also randomly cuts out and needs reboot to renegotiate the connection.
Never had any if these issues on o2.
Just had the deal, thank you 👌

This is from the EE website. Identical pic on BT. They claim to have increased 4G coverage by 10% this year but in any case that's a wide area they say they have covered! I don't know how long ago you tried them but it's possible they've improved 😊

EE retentions.
They're dishing them out like candy.
Got another one today.
That's 3 £5 and 1x £18 I have now.
I am about to ring them up and take control of the mrs's number too so I can gift her data when she runs out.
I got a letter from BT today about this, with a link of bt.com/30GBdataoffer
Cheers op
