I bought one of these (at a slightly lower price) from this seller and I'm sure it was new despite being listed as refurbished. The interface and remote recording makes it far better than any similar priced "new" boxes.

yes the feedback from other buyers seems to suggest you may be right THX

If you are with BT this is £5 a month for a year new with guarantee, cancel contract at the end of the year and Its yours, I know everyone isn't with BT but cheaper if u are. Great box though.

Contemplating getting a different youview box as I'm with TalkTalk and the service is good but the box is slow. Been told the BT box or certain Humax are a lot better - plus this has netflix which would save turning on the Xbox One so often.

Anyone know if just simply swap over the boxes, as I subscribed to the sky channels etc.

You can't. The boxes are linked directly to your account and any change in box has to be supplied by them for you to continue getting your services.

I have 2 of the older boxes (one of which came from these guys and again, looked like a brand new box) and neither can be linked to our BT account.

No PVR on this one.

You would be better looking at the Humax website, proven quality product with a 1 year warranty... I bought 2 more than 3 years ago, they have been brilliant,,good spec.

I think that this box is made by Humax.

Are these equivalent to the Humax DTR-T2000 YouView Freeview HD TV Recorder - 500GB?
thanks

They are basically the same box as the ebay ones which are made by Humax..

I suppose if you prefer to buy elsewhere "Off the shelf" I believe the same 500gb one is £150 at Tesco

No, you will not be able to get your extra services with a BT box.

I am currently testing the latest talktalk software update, which will includes netflix and appears to fix the slow response issue. ( You should also try disconnecting any mobile devices and then rebooting ).

I get all my BTTV services via the BT YouView box with no problem at all.

A lot of people on here to seem to go down the front page and vote either hot or cold without even looking what the item is or whether or not it is a great price...

Just like the supposed great deal o na new ps4 from toys r us that reached over 2000 degrees before anyone could confirm it to be a genuine offer and funnily enough it was incinerated as spam... one word Baaaa!

Well after looking on Ebay yes you can pick a used one up for around £20 less but this one comes from a reputable dealer and is backed up with a proper 6month guarantee, so I reckon it's a much better bet.

Bought one of these (new box without contract)4 months ago after ditching Sky.
There is a later box now but as said above has no HDD
I think the earlier DTR-T2000 is noisier and larger to accomodate a fan as the DTR-T2100 has the fan in the power supply cable not the box so the box is smaller and noise free.
Am looking for another one of these for the conservatory.
Great for HDD recording and you can send recordings from your phone via the Youview app.

and still the cold votes i think this site is pathetic sometimes

It's the same as this one on Currys site. It has the HD tuner for BBC, ITV etc. I have a talk talk youview box which I got brand spanking new off ebay for £60.00 a year ago. It's been great for the money although the EPG is a little slow. I enquired at Tesco's about getting the Humax BT box (not the one posted) and the guy in Tesco had one and he said that was slow as well. Maybe something to do with the Youview EPG in comparison with sky etc as it loads the catch up programmes as well as present and future ones.

The great thing about this little box is the availability of all the players. Something I believe only Samsung can offer on their smart services. I have used this but to be honest the catch up players load and play better on my laptop compared with the talk talk box. Incidentally I am not a talk talk customer and the box records all my programmes well and has never missed a recording.

This is probably cold because for just £30.00 more you can have a brand new one in a sealed box and collect it too.
