Ok..so this deal is for BT BB customers (will cost £5/month more for non BT customers). BT are offering £40 Amazon (or itunes) voucher and there are £40 cashback on quidco (I know it is not guaranteed). Considering all, it will work out at £13.30/month for a very generous allowance and fast 4G mobile internet (Works on EE). BT says tethering is not allowed but many customers say that they have been tethering without a problem. I am moving to this after 3 have booted me out of the one plan

Be warned with BT If you are in a 'fibre to the home' area, this will not work as you can't order online and have to do over phone. Happened to me, BT did honour the gift card but won't give the cash back.

Sorry but do you mean if you have bt fibre you will not get this? Any way,I ordered the standard BB (17MB) for the new house I am moving to on Friday and although the BB service will not be connected till next week, the BT website is recognising me as a customer of theirs and offering me the sim at the reduced price of £20
don't you have to put full price in deal without cash back etc as its not guaranteed

I have bt fibre and it worked for me(online) . I also ordered one for my wife in the new year sale and that also worked. Quidco has already tracked for latest one and been paid for new year one.

I think he is talking about Fibre to Premises, only available to very few homes, and not Fibre to Cabinet, the standard BT Infinity offering.

The tethering issue is a real grey area!
This deal was posted earlier in the week and so many people said BT dont allow it and its blocked on most devises! Currently im with EE (who i know have been purchased by BT) and i have no problem connecting my Iphone to my Ipad through the hotspot, but i dont want to take out this deal and be left high and dry if somehow they dont allow it!
Being a BT mobile customer myself, having the use of the BT WiFi app eliminates the need for 20gb of data in my opinion.

Yup, its a great app. But useless if you don't have a wifi signal.

Standard BT fibre is fine and will work. But we have their 'fibre to the home' service which they're rolling out randomly in new developments with increased speeds.

what I mean is in title it should say £16.66 per month cos quidco etc never gauranteed!
Frustrating because I want an EE 4G signal (because good where I live) and that is either EE or BT sim only. Cheaper for BT customers but all the new internet deals are cold!
I know BT own EE but do you get the same quality of 4G service? Like, I had an O2 and GiffGaff account and found the data was throttled on the latter. I'm currently with EE and have BT Broadband at home, so this tempting if the 4G is "as good"?

I am in an FTTH area and was able to order online (though went for the 2GB deal in another post). Might vary by area type as we have copper phone lines.

Been on bt just over a month now and have had no problems tethering my windows 10 lumia 640xl to my iPad.
I got their £5 sim deal and no problems with that. However they dont appear to be honouring their cashback deal via Quidco or their own £20/£40 Amazon/Itunes voucher offer. I have tried to resolve the matter with BT but no luck so far so Beware.....not the bargain it seems. Typical BT hear you say.
I do find it annoying when I search for deals and the price in the title factors in cash back and promotional discounts. The only given here is the £20 a month charge as it appears some aren't even getting the Amazon gift card so cold from me.
