That was a lovely story, thanks for sharing

That was a lovely comment, thanks for your helpful input.

I was purely trying to give some information to anyone currently with BT that they could also take advantage of the free gifts, I will bother next time to comment if I can offer some help, despite ur sarcy comment

It's a SAD xbox
Xbox one x would have been nicer 😁
Quite expensive compared to some offers from bt in the past. For me to get what I already have and the xbox I'd be paying 10 a month extra so I'd be paying for the xbox and when the deal runs out the cheapest bt would offer is an extension to the offer. When I got bt fibre it cost £28.99 a month for 80mb which i also had £200 reward card and quidco tracked for £100 which paid out within 6 weeks. I. Still on £28.99 for fibre and have bt sport through sky for £5 a month a out 4 year later.
32mb top speed for me lmao I was on better speeds 10 years ago with virgin
For anyone with BT currently and who's contract is up for a renewal, I enquired about what their best deal was over the phone today for someone who already has been with BT for 2 years, was told I could have BT super fast fibre, BT sport (HD), entertainment TV package so over 100 channels in total with 40 in HD plus they would INCLUDE the free gift of either the XBox or tablet for a total of £53 per month. They said they could not do better than this and could not include the free gift card or reduce the price per month to reflect this. Not a bad deal still I guess if you have little choice other than BT.

I informed them I would be leaving as still a worse deal than what a new customer would receive. Went for Now TV fibre for £30 a month and will spend the spare money on a netflix account or something, works out quite a lot just for a few channels and a £160 console over the course of a 2 year contract.

Do you think it would be that bad ? On virgin now but it's pretty expensive, would be cheaper on bt and I'd get a free Xbox, surely Netflix and gaming will still be okay at this speed .. right ???

Sure virgin is going up for me in a month or two as well

I'm already a customer, every time I phone up to half threaten to leave they say I'm already on a discounted package and can't do anything else. Virgin is pretty good too, just if this is 25 pounds a month cheaper and has a free Xbox am I only really missing out on speeds ? There's only ever one person in my house gaming or watching TV anyways so do I need so much speed ?
When selecting the deal also you can upgrade your internet speed - which increases the value of the BT Reward Card too
I may just try my luck to recontact

Coming to the end of our contract with BT and was wondering what kind of offer we would get if cancelling. Thanks petermcgregor14 for giving us the heads up what they offered you.

38161381-HudeC.jpgI'd probably end up paying the 10 pounds extra a month for 58mb speed to be honest. Still cheaper than what I'm paying with virgin and I get a free Xbox

On paper but be careful open reach speeds plummet at peak times if like me you will regret and go back asap
The main thing I learnt from this deal; BT's speeds haven't increased at all for my address. 32Mbps is still the limit. We've been here six years. In that time, Virgin have gone from a 150Mbps top package, to a 500Mbps top package...

It's not the limit at all ? Unless it is in your region perhaps

Hmmm it says minimum of 58 when paying the extra? Why would it be so low ? Also says cashback if you aren't getting these speeds

Yeh £20 after £20 of phone calls don’t be fooled, you could be lucky if you live next to exchange ? Check out what neighbors say online checker only gives average speed but if you are on peak times that’s not what you will get

"BT's speeds haven't increased at all for my address"

TBH the reality is even worse as BT's connection is very much an "up to" figure (range of 18-32Mbps), while my VM connections have spent most of their time above the rated speed.
For people on BT. I phoned to cancel and was offered a £30 only package. When I actually signed up to another provider, BT then phoned me and offered internet for £20 for 18 months. Wouldn't throw in any vouchers or anything. So still ended up switching.

So you might get a better deal if you are prepared to sign up with someone else.
Which model of the tablet is it? 7 8 or 10?

Trying to work out what would be easier to resell (and therefore bring the effective monthly cost down). The XBOX seems to go for about £150 on eBay.
Updated info for cashback. I'm tracking @ £130 atm
