BT Sport HD Package on Sky - £11.99 per month for 12 months

After calling BT to cancel my BT Sport (Non-HD) package I was told that they currently have an offer for existing customers of £11.99 for the standard BT Sport package on Sky. The normal price is £21.99 as the price has just increased.

When I was offered the deal, I asked if HD is included in that. The guy went to speak to his manager and said they could do it. The HD add-on is £5 per month.

So I'm getting the BT Sport HD package (normal price £26.99 / month) for £11.99 saving approximately 56%!

The contract is for 12 months and from the looks of things this is a pretty standard offer that the retentions department are allowed to hand out.

Just thought I would post this in case anyone it helps anyone out.

Usual ploy to psychologically incentivise a sale by offering a suggested notable discount from an over-priced starting point. Works well for Argos and Amazon. Debateable if the standard BT incentivisation has changed as it used to be 50% discount for 6months but reviewable from effective start of month 7 if committing to another 12m contract. Once they have you by the short and curleys they actively dis-incentivise leaving by the suggestion of re-introducing the "standard" overpriced fee.
really? is it that expensive now. Ive got the bt sport pack for free, and only an extra £5 if i want it in hd.

I'm impressed you managed to get through to them to cancel in the first place!!!! Did you have some secret way of speaking to someone there?

They ALWAYS have an offer on when you go to cancel. You probably could have knocked them down further to around £10 a month for HD sports.

Remember that when you're able to cancel you're in complete control. They don't want to see you leave and will offer you all sorts to stop you from joining a competitor! Haggle, haggle, haggle!
All I'll say is absolutely terrible!!!

Kodi is shocking, well mine is for sport. Not bad for movies but a right pile of poo for sports
There was a HUKD deal for this for £9.99 inc hd for 3 months a while ago. I did take it and cancelled after 3 months in which BT offered me same again in HD for 12 months
No thanks I'll stick to my open box n kodi for BT and pay small pennies for sky. Didn't Groupon have this for 9.99 a while back!

ive got phone and broadband through bt which comes with bt sport lite for free on sky platform.
BT sport lite is just BT sport 1. But to be fair majority if not all premiership games are on this Chanel.
I cancelled the £9.99 deal a few months back now struggling to get a decent deal

Not everyone wants to steal content! Pay your way.
worse thing I ever tried was kodi for sport shocking
Has anyone had any decent deals on BT Sports lately? I am leaving BT broadband so they are jacking up the price to £21.99. I refuse to pay that much for it.
none lately, mine just gone off as they forgot to cancel it in October when I cancelled the fibre broadband so had it free since then. Not worth the daft charge in my opinion but worth it for a £10
So an update. After leaving BT Broadband I retained BT Sports for £11.99 for 12months. Standard retention package it seem.
