BT Whole Home Wifi - single disk £65.71 (Amazon)

Lowest Amazon price yet for a single disk BT Whole Home Wifi. If you picked up the two pack the other day (or you still can) on the BT site or Very but need one more disk then this may be a good option.
I know the latest firmware update is causing problem for some users but, assuming that gets sorted, this may be a good deal for some.

Might as well just get two for £89. £65 for one is a poor deal.
If I've got the BT hub router, what's the advantage of one or more of these

Buying two for £89 is certainly an option if you can sell the other but if you just need one more and don't want the effort of selling a spare one then this is the cheapest it's ever been for buying a single.

You need to google mesh wifi and have a read. You'd only want to buy this single if you already have others and need to extend the mesh.

Mesh Wifi, much better than a router with very powerful Wifi or multiple Wifi Access Points as the discs communicate with each other and can control which discs a device is connected to, switching automatically between discs (like a mobile phone) and optimising which WiFi band and channel is used.

The discs connect to your router with the 1st disc connected via Ethernet with the others connecting via Wifi to each other or via Ethernet, they can even daisy chain via WiFi if needed.

The single disk is an add-on, the system is sold as 2 and 3 disc packs and can support a maximum of 6 discs and a minimum of 2.
How many you discs need depends on how big an area you need to cover and how well WiFi can penetrate the walls etc.

As already pointed out that the best deal is the twin packs.

I am running 4 discs (bought 2 x twin packs) on latest firmware and it's all working very well so far with all 5Ghz enabled devices now able to connect at 5Ghz all over the house therefore avoiding the overcrowded 2.4Ghz band.
