Back in stock in all sizes, the Triban 500SE from Decathlon is probably the most road bike you can get for anything like this price. At £399 it won budget bike and commuter bike of the year. It's now being cleared to make way for new range and has dropped to £299 (has been £330 as well). Last time it was this price only the very small sizes were available, now it looks as though all sizes are in stock. If you are in doubt just google the reviews.
If you order into store they'll also set it up and fit it for you. Usual lifetime guarantee on frame and stem (2 years on carbon forks) and free first service.

Great. I'm sure it may have been discussed recently, but how does it stack up against the Hanford Carrera TDF special, which is currently the same price I think?

Great bike I have this and ride every day. 2000 miles since the start of Feb when I bought it for £330. would recommend changing the tyres as I got 2 punchers within the first 2 weeks since then not had 1.

punchers. oh my.

Looks like a fantastic deal. Thanks for notifying me in the Carrera thread. Just completed my order.

auto correct I love it. still should check before posting

Tapi, The Carrera tdf hasn't won the awards this bike has for a good reason...it's not as good. This is a genuine bargain. The Carrera is a typical Halfords "double the rrp so we can offer it at half price and make it look a good deal" number. Bear in mind the Triban won it's awards when it was £80 more expensive and that was the real price.

Tribans are awesome for the money. check out Dave Atkinson off of road.cc. he raced the slightly newer model around Bath Odd down circuit. almost 25mph average speed for 15 miles. road.cc/con…ike

For that money, this may be my route into road cycling (as opposed to riding my mtb on the road!).

My boss sent out a Email and put Whether when he was referring to the Weather .. What a Muppet !

Obviously English not one of his strong subjects.

Need I say more

Even cheaper if you can get it through cycle to work scheme - costs just over £200 for me ;-)

Life's too short...

Would definitely recommend checking instore if you can and look for the original 500. Same frame as this, but much better finishing kit. This bike deal's good, that bike's outstanding for the price... if you can find one.

Here's the info/spec - decathlon.co.uk/tri…tml

Got one in January for £330, love it. Changed tyres to Gator Skins and everyone's a winner. Competing in my second triathlon on it next weekend too!

Obviously English isn't one of your strong points either, no need to capitalise mid-sentence. Practice what you preach and try to stay on topic. Great deal- got heat!

Not really a big fan of road bikes. There's something about the ruggedness of a MTB.Find it more versatile than a road bike; like say you can just cut across a field or go an off-road path shortcut with a MTB.Just do wok I did,fit a 48 teeth ring on the front (as most MTBs have 44 or 42 teeth) with 1.95" tyres and you can go on and off road.:)

Nope. Not at all. Road bikes are just so much faster. Honestly, you can't ride on the road with the flat bars (or at least I can't). I need the different hand positions, much thinner and lighter tyres, lighter frame, aero benefits etc. With a road bike you simply feel bettrr

great bike still feels like new 6 months of heavy use

Fantastic deal, bought it! Anyone could recommend me a bike lock and tyre replacement? Any good on kryptonite?

Saw someone has changed to gator skin, is it necessary to get inner type changed as well?

How fast do you plan on going on the road?!

Why are there no pedals?

Why are there no pedals?

Poor trolling. There are actually, will have to get replaced anyway

I already bought a car from one of the HUKD 2 years ago...
This would make a great decorative item in my Garage

Heat added lol

Heat from me

Can anyone please tell me if I can fit these type of alloys onto this bike please ???

No inner tyres on road bikes tend to be good for anywhere between 20 and 28s I believe

why new tyres? I had no problems with stock ones used all through the winter

As far as I know the lifetime warranty is only for aluminium forks, this has carbon firms so the warranty is only for 2 years. I'm not knocking this deal, if this was available early this year I would have bought myself instead of building from a frame, these are brilliant bikes, excellent value for money.
Have some heat.

Road bikes don't come with pedals because people normally use clipless pedals and have there own preference on brand ect but I'm sure that they throw in some cheapy rat trap type plastic pedals if you buy from a store. They may ship them with them not sure?
