some bike snobs may look down their noses, but decathlon and B'TWIN products are very very good and always get great reviews in cycle media. Heat added
I have the Alur 700 and nothing beats it at the price I paid. Ultegra on a bike a smudge over £1k is rare.
seems a good spec for the price, decent wheels too which often get overlooked by manufacturers.

Nice bike but the wheels are nowhere near the same quality as the btwin.

True. But the wheels are often the first uprade. As far as training wheels go those are fine.
pretty good. Canyon Endurace is same price and lighter though. I'd rather have a Canyon.
Lovely bike for the money , only small in stock
Looks an OK bike for the price.

However, not convinced it is deal, exactly. One of the recent reviews of the bike talks it having been bought on a cycle to work scheme so it must have been bought for less than £1000. Makes the current price of £1,050 seem like less of a deal.

Amount offered on cycle scheme varies on arrangement the business sets up - company I work for has a max of £1500 with those spending above that having topped up without any issues.

Any scheme authorised by the government for tax savings has a maximum spend of £1,000. Not sure what schemes you guys are talking about.

not quite as there is no limit - it just group credit licence goes upto £1000 - i.e. if company has its own licence it can still be part of the scheme

Oops, I stand corrected. I guess that the employers that I have worked for didn't have a license and just imposed the £1,000 limit.
Cycling Weekly gives the Btwin Ultra 720 a 9/10 and a stonkingly good review that should make even the label loons pause for thought. Cycling Weekly Btwin 720 review If I had a spare grand this is where it would go.

roadrunner1 the Defy is a mix of Ultgra adn 105 the Btwin 720n is Ultegra throughout as made clear in the review posted above.

Btwin = yuk

Thanks for the in depth, informative, balanced review there.

Mine was around 2k and I just paid the difference myself. So you save 40% of the max 1k limit.

But no way in hell would I spend 1k on this.
8.6kg, ultegra, mavics, respectable frame and finishing... +heat

nearest imo:
