I did the exact deal last year. I didn’t buy the voucher but went straight to tour center uk and asked them to match it and then made adjustments to the times of flights and had a 3 night stay in the same hotel, i think it was like £220 for teo people in the end eith early flights on the way out and late evening flights on the way back.

If you do it, use the tube near hotel otherwise the taxis will rip you off.

For transfers, there’s a shared shuttle service when tou land and it works out around 28€ round trip for 2.

Beautiful city. I’ll go back soon. I’d suggest the 3 night option if you can!

Budapest is beautiful!
Any applicable dates in school holidays? The perils of the other half being a teacher
Don't use taxis in Budapest, absolute rip offs

If you fancy treating yourself or other half to a meal at a michelin starred restaurant i highly recommend Borkonyha. I was there on Friday and their pork was the best thing I've ever eaten. It wont break the bank either.

OK if you live near to Stansted or Manchester, but for me the nearest airport, Stansted is nearly a 3 hour drive, so no good to me.

Excellent deal for Stansted. Ta
the Budapest Christmas market is spectacular
Has anyone booked this from Stansted that could share the flight times?
Budapest is a beautiful city. I am not voting hot or cold on this deal as this will be good for some but I prefer to skyscanner and airbnb but budapest was oe of my favourite breaks ever, the building and architecture and the Christmas markets just made it.

Should be a city on everyones bucket list

Do they have Uber?

Do they have Uber?

Nope Uber tried to operate in Hungary but due to 'government legislation' (the corrupt taxi drivers forcing them out) it was discontinued in summer 2016 I think.
Hot! My wife is about to give birth so tempted to take just me and the toddler

That’s absolutely true. But budapest has one of the most complex public transportation system in Europe, with the oldest tube in the world after Russia!
Roughly 4£ for a daily ticket totally unlimited and you can use the buses, trains, trollies (bus on a tram line if that makes sense), suburban railway and the tube! Don’t use a taxi unless you have someone that speaks the language, you will pay 3x prices usually...
Amazing deal!
Can u travel on photo Id like driving licence or do have to have passport
Surely not a Christmas break if its in November? When do the markets start?

Like any flight leaving the UK apart from Ireland, you would need a passport

Absolutely cracking deal though. Highly recommend Budapest and Xmas there is just amazing.

How legit is the site to order from?
The only thing that irks me is that it's £30/night, but if you add the 3rd, it's £33/night.

You'd think the price would go down as upsells should really be the cherry on top.
I did not realise until reading here about the taxi scheme. We got ours organised from a hotel and was charged the equivalent of £20 each way for two of us. The rides about 30 minutes to st Stephens
Budapest is beautiful, safe, neat, not expensive and people are polite.
Except if you have heavy load/baggage, mobility issue or you're extremely in a hurry there is absolutely no reason to use taxi in Budapest. S week travel card is about 14 pound and will allow you to travel on all trains, trams, buses, ferry etc. Bus 200E from/to airport runs regularly and it's covered by your 24hrs, 72hrs or your weekly travel.
Budapest has one of the best public transportation system in any European capital city.
Is anyone aware if there is a way to see what times the flights are?

I know the feeling
Have stayed at this Hotel two yrs ago - it was done through WizzAir holidays. Me and the Missus got flights, 3 nights accomodation for £90 eac.

FYI: The Transfer is good, but difficult to find and the Hotel is out of the centre. Requires either a 20min odd walk (in that weather?!) OR the tube station is situated about 2 mins from it.

Also, if I remember correctly our aircon was blasting out hot air only - fine for that time of year ofc but not when you want to sleep!

Photo ID National Identity Cards if your european, passport otherwise.

You have plenty of time to order one, passport,
As amazing as these deals are they're just a reminder how I have no one to go with
Where are the single's travel deals

(I am kidding, I know £200 for a 3-night stay in a hotel + flights is still a pretty decent deal anyway)

Wicked deal. Do they put prices up on Christmas market everywhere and rip you off and make it really expensive?
Meanwhile in Britain..

Depressingly true. Another reason this deal is so tempting.
Just checked and flight times are bad. You get out to Budapest at 21:00 and leave Budapest at 6:25am so you are effectively there for one day. They can alter flight times however the price then goes up to £126pp.

How did you check the flight times?
These deals never worked for me, you buy the voucher and then you call to find out that flight hours are for zombies and if you want to change they double the price. Cancelling the deal is an adventure.

I went through to the company who provided the holiday called tour centre through the link on the go groupie page they have an online chat. I did only check the one £59 dec 10/11 one. The others may be different

Yea in that case I don't think i'd bother. My taxi from the airport cost about 3x more than the Uber I used for the return journey. Because everything else is so cheap there you're talking the same cost as an all you can eat meal + wine tour + museum entry for one short taxi journey!

Do they have Uber?

Uber is banned in Hungary, illegal company.
