Looks interesting for sure. Echo uses some clever directional mics to cover the entire room, so I wonder if this will do a similar job.

Thanks for posting
So is this box licensed by Amazon or what?
Might be the SoundLogic Buddy speaker on sale at Amazon.com, more detailed description here:

U are right. It definitely is the sound logic linked in amazon.com
Here's a YouTube video of the item -
Video of product on PLAY VIDEO. Usually going for around $70 on the other side of the Atlantic and it is amazon certified.
LOL SRSLY?

Got to love the line "We don't recommend that you leave the speaker unattended while charging."

Makes me think fire risk.

Looks really cheap and nasty, that fact he spends a long time talking about WIFI signal in the video implies to me this thing has a tendancy to drop WIFI a lot.
Alexa is getting around a bit... on that I vote cold lol
The proper Alexa can be a bit temperamental at the best of times so I reckon a non Amazon version will have even more issues. I don't think the cheaper cost (same cost if you compare to the dot) will offset the hassle you may end up experiencing from a thrid party device.

Is this compatible with Amazon prime music?
Not voting either way but i'm amazed that folk are happy to pay for a device that is basically spying on them by who knows who (although it has been suggested that the FBI are participants) and has the ability to record every spoken word and store these conversations for all time.
Personally, I'd avoid any Accelerate products. Earlier in the year I bought a pair of Accelerate Bluetooth earphones from home bargains and the sound quality was terrible and they also came with the line about never leaving them unattended while charging. A few months ago I then got an Accelerate hd dashcam for the car and again it was rubbish. Got refunds on both items and lesson learnt in my case.
On the plus side, if you do get one and think it's crap then home bargains will give you a refund with no hassles

Your life must be a lot more interesting than mine if you're worried about that.
I hope its a bargain basement Amazon Echo with a voice to match. Choose from the Wayne or Waynetta voice and shout at it and it will shout back at you.

I'm holding back, until they start 'Featuring' Morgan Freeman
I wouldn't suggest anyone buy this until we find out who actually makes it, and what they do with the data of yours they collect. Google appears never to have heard of 'Buddy Speaker' or 'Accelerate', and the terms don't even appear to be registered as trademarks.
For all you haters out there - I bought a Buddy and it is an Amazon Alexa with great sound and voice activation. As good as the echo but much better value,
I also have one, in fact have just ordered a 2nd for the bedroom as hubby loves it so much, the amazon echo has a fairly poor review buy which as a Bluetooth speaker, so some of these comments are a little premature, I have Amazon music and this connects to it just great as it does to spotify etc, I think it's great and still cheaper than the echo
Picked mine up today. It’s currently £29.99 has to be the bargain of the century. I already have one Echo and 2 Dots. The build quality isn’t like the others but works just the same. Sound quality excellent. Not as loud as big Echo but very little difference. Don’t forget it’s also a portable reachable speaker which the Amazon ones aren’t. Set up via their own app a breeze too.
I've just bought one 18th march 2018 looks a lot like the one on amazon.com, but this one is made in China, not sure where soundlogic is made, this is a company called accelerate.£29.99 home bargains. So far so good good quality sound, responds well to voice activation does everything that the echo does except make calls. I love it but only time will tell.

Please help. I can't seem to get it to work with Spotify.

Like I say play that's what I call mum on spotify even though it's set up. I can do it through my phone but not by voice activation.
