PLEASE don't do the tedious £/Mb nonsense - compare like for like and don't assume everyone has as much porn/pirated software, music and film as you do

Does anyone know if you can use this with a PS3 please?

Thanks, great deal

top offer for a hardware based disk encryption,

you can;t get a FDE for this side of £50, and being external is just a bonus.

AES Government grade encryption should keep things away from prying eyes, answer to the above, i doubt you could use it with a ps3, once encryption is enabled the disk is useless without the ATA password stored in the disks chip, which locks the hardware encryption key. The rest of the disk is unreadable until this key is released.

Manufacturers don't even have a backdoor password to try, so be careful what passwords your using guys

Thanks. Just ordered one with quidco too. Needed something like this as i'm a teacher and things get knocked off tables often. Encryption is fab for me too! Can stop using my PEN now - I keep having to delete stuff as I needed much more room! Thanks again!

would anyone recommend this for use with a mini cyclone mark 2 media player?

I've never purchased from the hut before - are they ok with customer service and the like - in case this thing fails?

Also - does anyone know if this comes with any synch software? or can recommend a good free one?

I have used The Hut plenty of times and had no trouble with goods or returns.

Comet are knocking out a 320 GB portable drive discounted to £38.00, manufacture is Toshiba. Very little information on the ticket and suspect it does not have the same specification as this one with regards to encryption and durability. So this one does look a good deal, voted hot and ordered.

so does this use 1 or 2 usb ports to power it?
just that my GFs tv only has one usb port to play movies etc from and would therefore be pointless if it uses 2

The 250GB is more expensive which is strange 250GB Buffalo

got one myself as well

I ordered through Zavvi outlet, but they are one and the same. Was sent the incorrect capacity: 250GB not 320GB. CHECK YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT! Zavvi telephone number: 0844 264 0702
