In case you're wondering.....this is a cable router and not a modem one.

does it work on virgin broadband

does it work on virgin broadband

Q: is this a modem or a cable router?
A: Hello This is a cable router, ideal for Virgin Cable Broadband. Regards Broadbandbuyer.co.uk

haha good spot

**** hell thats super cheap! Don't even need one but ordered anyway, best bargain I've seen on here yet!

Ordered, thanks

Absolutely awesome - ordered 2 !

Great price! Very happy with my present buffalo wireless g

if you're a virgin customer do you really need this? Modem is free from virgin if it is faulty they will replace it so don't think is necessary to buy this

Its not a modem its a router, lots of people dont have wifi and virgin tend to give free routers with an upgrade
so yes a good buy

I had a faulty modem replaced a month ago for free, however when I asked about the wireless-N one she told me it would cost £30.

It is MANDATORY to buy this. The price alone dictates it.

apparently does run (a very specific) version of DD-WRT
dd-wrt.com/wik…00N
which might make this worthwhile

Absolute bargain, nice one OP

I'd rather fix any problems with the router myself rather than let the incompetent CS people do it. I was on Virgin before and had a WR-54GS, ran solidly for about 4/5 years 24/7.

Now on O2 - and their routers were crap, so turned it into a bridge and plugged it into my WRT router, still running solid, I'd probably be on longer to their CS than it would take me to fix it!

hi, can I use with o2 modem-router?
I want use it as a secound router.

Absolutely awesome - ordered 2 !

Ditto .....cheers O.P.

I agree what you saying for having N router but if you are ok with the G I don't see the point it doesn't apply for everyone nice find though good price.

I want one but I'm with O2.

Great find. Just ordered one as a spare to put away.
Currently got a Linksys which is working fine, but when somethings switched on 24hrs for 4 years, always handy to ahev a backup!

FWIW: out of the box it can be configured as just an access point if you need to extend your wireless range.

Ordered 2 because it runs DD-WRT!

Help needed please.
Currently with Virgin Broadband, have not got wireless, am completely clueless, is this all I need to go wireless? as Virgin want to charge me as I'm already a customer!!!!
thanks in advance for any help, this is not where my knowledge lies unfortunately!

Hey great price many Thanks ( just bought it )

Only v1 works with DD-WRT, not version 2, be warned. Great price though

In a word yes. You just need to connect your cable modems RJ45 to the WAN RJ45 of the Buffalo.

remember quidco!

Awesome Price

Brainslayer release 10-12-10-r15437 apparently is ok on V2 though not yet added to the DB of compliant devices.

I already have a v2 unit with Buffalo f/w an have ordered 2 (in the hope that these are the same version) to test this out.

Ordered 3 thanks op

Ridiculous price, especially for a brand name like Buffalo! If these turn out to be the v1 DD-WRT flashable models then this price is unbelievable.

Edit: Just seen the comment above by BargainMad, excellent price!

Could I use this with an XBOX 360 to connect the XBOX wirelessley from sons bedroom to Living room HomeHub (with the advantage that its at N speeds !) ?

Anyone know - although its worth it just to experiment !

This is not an ADSL Modem it is a Cable Modem. But great price nevertheless and good reviews for this at Smallnetbuilder. Grab yourself a bargain if your on cable.

Great price. just ordered one.
For those ordering more than one - why? Is it just to extend your wireless coverage?

If you're on ADSL you simply need to get hold of a modem, or put your router into modem-only mode (some models cant do this, research your router online). Once you've done that you simply link the two with an RJ45 cable.

Bargain, bought a couple for no reason other than because it would be downright rude not to.
