Good value. But don't bank on Turbo USB. It is giving me Blue Screen of Death in Vista Home Premium. Otherwise very good.

Works fine on mine and manages 30mb/s+. Only gripe is they run a bit hot according to S.M.A.R.T. data, but then mine is on 24/7.

Opposite of cold.
Sorry......

the email advert says Serial ATA, but does that just mean the hard drive inside or does it have an external sata port along with the USB?

Mine's running at 44c. You can't even actively cool them that well because the case is plastic. It's not a terrible temp but not exactly ideal.

Does anyone know if Buffalo make their own hard drives to put in these cases or are they from another manufacturer? I'd prefer to avoid Seagate drives which have been unreliable for me in the past.

Works great as an external drive for the Wii

I'm borrowing a mate's and it makes a nice audible click when ejected which I find reassuring before yanking the cord.

Edit: On reflection, titter ye not.

Mines got a Samsung drive in.

Just ordered:thumbsup: ebuyer are realy good just choose the free delivery option. package usually arrives in 2-3 days

This or a western digital external HD? i'm torn between them both.

I have had one of these since Nov 08, new from Amazon; last week, it recognised the drive, but wouldn't recognise it as memory - so I couldn't access any of my stuff. I managed to uninstall and reinstall and it worked for a week, then went down again. I managed to get some stuff backed up from it, but have lost some music/movies - I am using a laptop and Win Vista, but after a bit of research it does look like it is a recognised problem.

Nik

Hmmm, mine died as well. Wouldn't power up, just clicked a few times then powered off. Took the drive out and it works fine in the PC. Shonky chinese crap.
