Apologies - I thought you simply couldn't find an alternative.

I hadn't realised that these days, if you simply vote cold, that's OK; but if you want to explain why you voted cold, you need a signed affidavit and three character witnesses.
Good product...but I use the NHS and this product is from Amazon!!!

Don't worry - there won't be an NHS for much longer if the Tories and Amazon get their way! (_;)
i would wait for other brand to come down.
Why is this hot? Because it came back to a normal price? Come on people you can get a USB3 for £65

Amazon... NHS...

Time for a google it would seem. And maybe a cancelation of an outstanding order and closure of account.

...and please be very careful what coffee you drink while googling amazon
Can't believe a USB 2.0 drive at this price has reached this heat! Voting is really crazy at Christmas when the reindeer are on the loose.

Seriously - look for a USB3.0 drive; once you've got used to the speed you won't want to touch USB2.0 drives again. Even if your current equipment doesn't support USB3.0 you'll probably replace it before the drive packs up...

Vote with your credit card folks.

I've done no shopping at Amazon this Christmas and will continue to boycott them in the new year. Loss of sales is the only language Amazon understands.

They are simply doing what we are all trying to do, save money.... if the loophole was there for me to avoid paying tax i would.

I agree, it's up to the government to ensure that loopholes are closed and correct revenues are collected.

I would have preferred starbucks to have refused to pay their tax-donation and force the government into action, instead we now have a situation where massive corporations get to decide how, when and how much tax they pay.
Good brand with reasonable price.
But for USB 2.0 I will expect to get much lower than this. In 3-4 years when vast majority of PCs / Laptops are installed with USB 3.0 connection people will not be able to use this HDD anymore.

In the meanwhile people could still find USB 3.0 for approximately the same price. See the message in this thread for the link.

I love the way people think it's OK for Amazon to ruthlessly exploit loopholes - despite the fact that it causes those same people to have to pay higher taxes (including tax on petrol) and reduces the money available for the NHS and road repairs.

Only large international companies such as Amazon and Starbucks (and Nestle for that matter) have the opportunity to artificially move profits around to avoid tax like this. It may be legal (just) but it isn't ethical, it isn't moral, and it certainly isn't right for UK citizens.

You can dodge a murder conviction with a legal loophole - does that make murder OK?
Furthermore, the Tory Government won't close the 'loopholes' these companies and individuals use because they use them themselves. And the hypocritical media/public would be screaming that the Government are against business and not doing enough to promote wealth.

It's like the people complaining HMRC aren't doing enough to collect avoided/evaded taxes. They've suffered massive cuts at the hands of this Government and can't keep up. But hey, who cares! They're worthless public servants.

you can still use a usb 2 drive on a usb 3 port it drive may be slower but it wont be obsolete
Please don't view Amazon with contempt, they are a fantastic retailer with excellent CS. I would'nt want to see prices increase because they have to pay more tax.

Instead, take a look at the likes of Lord Ashcrofts tax loop holes, whom donated £10 million to the Tory party for their successful election campaign. Also, take a look at George Osborne's family trust fund, where he will inherit £millions of tax free funds.
While your at it, do some research, and you will be shocked at the numbers of Coalition ministers, lords, peers & MP's whom have shares in the private healthcare companies which are/will be outsourced by our beloved NHS.

Back on track. Is it a Samsung drive inside the Buffalo Drive Station?
ordered, I can only recommend Buffalo drives.
