This would be seriously tempting if I needed the storage!

Got to be a bargain considering you would pay this kind of money for the drives alone I suspect this will have Seagate drives which personally I have had no issues with in the past.

Seagate ST 1000DMOO3 Desktop HDDs in the 4TB capacity inside according to reviews although i suspect it might be these drives inside but the 4tb versions they are not even NAS drives just normal computer HDD's.
amazon.co.uk/Sea…OO3.

Me personally i wouldn't touch this it has Seagte HDD that are not reliable and the NAS itself doesn't offer any addons at all, all in all a very bland box with nothing to offer. Its not even worth it to take the disks out as they arent very good and not really cheaper.

A indepth look at the NAS here

Reviews look pretty good and I have not had a Seagate fail on me before, But several WD and a Samsung have.
I do not buy into this reliability bull at all, and it comes with "3 years 24-hour TeraStation VIP HDD Exchange Service" elsewhere so assume this will include it also.
I am a little confused how you think this is not cheap when you are basically getting the NAS free, For most people who just want basic large central storage this is extremely cheap. For example it is £600 on eBuyer.

However I appreciate your opinion and thanks for taking the time to supply the info above.

is this the same but for … is this the same but for 352?http://www.dabs.com/products/buffalo-terastation-4tb-1400-4-bay-ts1400d0404-eu-BK1G.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc%20product%20search&utm_campaign=Components%20and%20Storage%20-%20Hard%20Drives%20-%20NAS&gclid=CjwKEAiAh560BRDu-aD93r-J_zoSJACrxZG2kp8VtPQTgSJwpft7zhzqyLHbkSbsrwAYR13SxhQGFhoCC8bw_wcB

Not quite, that only comes with 4 x 1 TB drives. So 4TB compared to 16TB for the one in this deal.

cold for me too, a nas should never be bundled with regular drives, especially Seagate.

Seagate are the worst HDD manufacturer there is, not just their infamous click of death but also the worst service known to man. maybe they've got better but I wouldn't touch their drives ever again.

Here we go again
Seagate v's Wd
then it's
Apple v's Android
and
Tesco v's ASDA
Will it ever stop? We all know people are individuals and we've heard it all before....move along now

You have to be mad or drunk to say this is cold. Even if you undervalued the drives the nas itself without any storage would set you back 200-300 easy.

OP, you should update the price and then report the deal so the mods unexpire

Like wd drives don't die, huh?
A nas drive is no different from a regular drive. It's just gone through a different testing regime.

If you're happy to fall for the marketing hype then go ahead, spend more money.

Can't be denied this is a hot deal.

I am glad some of you guys are not completely blind moron's.

What did we do before "nas" drives I wonder....How did the millions of servers and home nas users manage to keep their data before this technological marvel? You guys are too funny X)

Oh it's a NAS drive, It's got to be better! X)
Yet I have used vanilla seagate drives for 24/7 use with no issues for long periods. (14 months constant use, no errors, no clicking, perfect)
Anyone who voted cold on this is an idiot, Not because it's my thread or I am a misinformed bias fanboy. But because Buffalo appear to be offering a 3 year/24h replacement warranty on the drives. If one fails, call them and stick a new one in! Job done!

£721 with three x4tb drives now. Great price if anybody got one.
