In my opinion this has always been a great deal at £20 which is actually not far off the retail price in the US - it was down to £17 on Amazon around xmas but still worth picking up a few at this price.

Shame it's not the same proof as the US! Still a great deal though.

I'm guessing you mean the 45% stuff? It's what's known as old bottling, the first few bottles I bought (here in the UK) were 45%, however don't think they're available any more, either here or the US....

I must admit the old bottling was a tad nicer, but for £20 you won't get a better bourbon that this IMHO (a regular priced one anyway)

+1 to this

How does this compare to, say, makers mark?

Maker's is a wheat-bourbon so it's a bit smoother, mellower. BT is more corn so the flavour is more up-front, sharper.
I prefer BT to MM most of the time but it's different so I'll still keep a bottle around.

YMMV but was £16 at my local tesco.

Excellent quality drink but does not last very long when opened!Just want to say I like it!

Never been a big fan. Prefer Woodford Reserve and Wild Turkey but £17.50 is a good price regardless.

I picked up a bottle of this and a bottle of Makers Mark in Christmas sales. Tried them both for the first time in fairly close succession. For me, I like the BT, but liked the MM a fair bit more...I just found it so smooth yet still with quite a bit of depth to it. Lovely stuff. If it helps you as a reference, my favourite sub-30-quid Whisky (at least of the probably 25 or so that I've tried) is Dufftown Singleton 12 year & Aberlour 10/12.

Thanks - a nice bourbon.
