The teen years can be brutal. Especially when you’re Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) — a Sunnydale High School student destined to slay supernatural, blood-sucking baddies instead of hanging out at the mall. Over the seven seasons of this thrilling, witty show, Buffy struggles to maintain allies in the fight against evil, while also engaging in on-off romances with a moody vampire (David Boreanaz) or two (James Marsters). 144 episodes of one of the smartest, funniest, most action-packed series ever to slay on the small screen.

£50!
Not a bad price for 7 seasons and one of the best TV shows of all time. That's still less than the DVD set (though this doesn't have extras) and you can watch it on the go, too.
Great show. Season 4 probably the pinnacle (strangely enough, a similar story for many other long running series).

Not sure about £50 being a great price, but as pointed out above, cheaper than the current price of the DVD box set.

*edit* seems that £39 is the lowest price for the DVD set, but regularly gets heat at nearer £60

Unfortunately I don't think they ever shot the early seasons in HD. Season 1in particular looks like it was shot on the cheapest video camera imaginable in a dark warehouse.

If ever a show needed an HD remaster...

It has been mastered* in high definition and it's an abomination. They've attempted to re-frame the 4:3 aspect ratio into 16:9 and it's sadly comically bad. If the scans are given over to someone competent and they preserve the original intent, then it might work.

*It was shot on film.

The annoying thing with the HD versions is for most of the show it looks great but it’s lazy mistakes that clearly came about from not having anyone involved with the remaster that worked on the original and the editor not being able to spend time watching every scene to see what the intention of the shots were. Coupled with a few times where the editor maybe needed another fresh pair of eyes to help notice things that crop into frame
how dare anyone vote cold to the best show EVER! hot at double the price!

I think if they'd just stuck to the original aspect ratio they couldn't have gone too far wrong, they had the master tapes as reference. It's when they try and stick a rectangle peg in a square hole they get into trouble.

I think this is the SD version
£50 now. Way overpriced. Was $30 on US iTunes & other streams such as Vudu. Would pay £30 for it.
