Especially considering they've just been fined for under dosing and spurious claims
a Trading Standards investigation found the multi-million pound company had been using “unjustified health and nutrition claims”.

I can't find anything about them under dosing, all the reports say that it is the claims that they make on packaging that have got them in trouble.

I thought Bulk Powders was the better of the brands? Certainly tastes far nicer and has better nutritional values than a lot of other brands

Any recommendations then?

The level of protein in some of the products was found insufficient to make the health claim "protein contributes to the growth of muscle mass" or the nutrition claim "source of protein" - significant, particularly amongst the fitness community for whom these types of claims are important when buying a product.
Maybe wasn't under dosing then from what I've copied and pasted there sounds like they're being fairly hard done by to be honest!

Most companies have started adding 1g of protein to things (chocolate bars, cereals etc), claim they have added health benefits and increase the price, l hope all these other companies are going to receive the same treatment.

My mind goes to the snack products which may contain a couple of grams protein here and there.

If I remember correctly, BP always come out good when people on various fitness/BB websites carry out protein testing.

Always hold off and wait for a 40% discount code and be aware some items are discounted by 10% to prevent the code use on them.

MyProtein is my first choice when I need any protein, but I always wait for a 55% discount code, with the code you can get 5kg of unflavoured whey for under £40.

Bodybuildingwarehouse is another website I use, they regularly send out 40%/45%/50% discount codes by email.

I have recently been told about mysportsfuel, I have not ordered from them before but they sell 5kg of flavoured whey for £29.99.
I ordered 2 bags earlier, didn’t even know about any investigations.

I’ve only ever ordered this brand and from MyProtein. I always found the MP one to be very ‘watery’ whereas BP’s always seemed thicker and easier to consume.

So from reading that article, is it just the marketing jargon on the back which has got them into trouble or is the product itself not providing the right levels of protein etc in a serving?

Most of the cheap brands do amino spiking,

many of the 'big' brands do too. Throw in anything that can pass the tests

Thanks for sharing these links, I always thought the companies shared independent test results on their websites.

I can't believe how much the price of whey has gone up in recent years. The government didn't help with this a few years ago when they saw supplements usage increasing and made them VATable, instant 20% increase (17.5% at the time).

Depends on budget but I like Vivolife - actually tastes nice and has compostable packaging.
