You'd probably hate all the friendliness and engaging in conversation with your neighbours and strangers in the pub, best stay where you are. :giggle:

Quite :giggle:

Incidentially, what is happening to Home Bargains?

Sad to say the one I used to pop into in my area has closed - it was quite a large one and always busy too.

Home Bargains and Quality Save are great! I pop in there sometimes just for a brouse and usually end up coming out loaded down with all sorts of stuff.
I love playing the 'wonder why it's 85% off the RRP?' game. Most of the time it's just end of line stuff, but sometimes it's because in some way the item is not quite right, like hairspray which cloggs in the nozzle, or shampoo which leaks from the lid, or crisps which taste a 'bit funny'! Bargain Roulette! LOL!

Welcome to the HUKD forums col11

I knew a manager at a Home Bargains store, the reason the stuff is so cheap is becasue it is close to use by date and in other cases its becasue the items have been ordered by foreign companies wanting to import, the order either went belly up or ordered too much so HB get it cheap. Some of their furniture range is actually made for them by a company in China. Quality Save, although identical is a "sister" shop. Its owned either by the son or daughter of the owner of HB. Not stating this is fact, but its what I was told

they have these in h&b by car craft liverpool saw them yest good stocking filler.

i got loads of genuine star wars stuff for a fraction of the price last yr for my son. You just have to be lucky and go in at the right time

If it helps anyone there are 4 stores in South Wales at Newport, Barry, Caerphilly and Bridgend. Not sure if Bridgend one is open yet but it wasn't last week.

A fellow HUKD member goes home bargains in Doncaster like me

I go to stock up on Sprite 3G for 39p a can lol, and an even cheaper energy drink for 19p a can lol.

Says my nearest store is 67.2 miles away, you Northerners get all the bargains :-(
