Also instore at this price. They had also reduced some other malts.

Bunnahabhain is not a heavily peated malt – it embodies the more gentle side of Islay, making it an approachable dram. The nose is fresh and aromatic, and the palate is light with fruit and nuts, pairing wonderfully with ‘Islay Angels' – oysters and smoked cheese wrapped in bacon, a lovely canapé or starter.Small batch distilled. Natural colour un-chill filtered. An alluring complex bouquet with aroma of dried fruits toasted nuts with vanilla and a delicate coastal influence Russet gold, this is a complex 12 Year Old with hidden depths. Aromatic fruity floral scents with the most subtle hints of smoke prepare the palate for sweet fruit and nuts with a vanilla and caramel finale. Andrew Brown Distillery Manager Tasting Notes Colour: russet gold. Nose: fresh and aromatic, fruity floral with hints of dried fruit and a subtle prevalence of smoke. Palate: light with fruit notes, nutty flavours with a sweetness and slight hints of vanilla and caramel. Finish: lingering, beautifully rich and full bodied.

I'd like to try this. I've got an Ardbeg 10 on the go currently
You know what... This whisky is one of the worlds best kept malt secrets. Fantastic unpeated sherried Islay whisky. Great price.

It’s a great whisky at that price.
Is this a newer one they have done or is it just new packaging thanks .

Very true!
Goddamit....every time I blink there's a new decent whisky on offer. I should be happy (cos have got loads of bargains recently) but am depressed as money now run out

I’m depressed as the nearest Waitrose is at least 30 miles away
Can't believe I mentioned this in the Cardhu deal thread last week and foolishly never bothered to post it as a deal. Oh well, glad someone did.

It's a very different beast to Ardbeg. It IS peated, though not to the levels of the southern Islay offerings, Laphroaig, Lagavulin & Ardbeg. As the write-up says, it's light and fruity versus Ardbeg's salt & smoke.

Of no real consequence, but that is quite possibly in part due to its geography... its the hairiest of drives to get there -don't know if you can get there on google street-view but give it a go if you get to try a dram, or bottle.

Its a redesigned bottle, though now bottled slightly stronger too at 46.3% (unless your dram is marked as 'cask strength' its always cut with a little water for bottling, to standardise it as much as anything).

Fantastic unpeated sherried Islay whisky.

It's definitely peated. Lightly peated, but its still there. Off the top of my head, I believe there's only Bruichladdich on Islay which produces an unpeated standard expression. Thankfully they also produce both Port Charlotte & Octomore to redress the balance

Ok good thanks as this is my favourite malt
Non chill filtered , Natural colour are all big positives but mean nothing if the malt is bad. Fear not this is like others have said a absolute gem of a whisky.

It's a solid buy at its usual RRP of £33- £36 so yes a few extra £'s does make this a Hot deal. Just finished my stored bottle so perfect timing. I would always have this in my collection.

Thanks for your efforts on HUKD over the past 4 years to find deals that are better than this one.
