If they're the burgers I'm thinking of then they're actually pretty good.
Used to buy them fairly regularly but price has gone up at least twice this year.

You can see a picture of them on the main box on the sainsburys homepage or here:

For the Cumberland:

Pork (72%), Water, Rusk (wheat, flour, water, raising agent:ammonium carbonates), Salt, Pepper, Stabilisers: Di- and Triphosphates, Preservative: Sodium Sulphate, Antitoxidants: Ascorbyl Palmiltate, Alpha Tocopherol.

I think these are the burgers:

Beef (80%); Water; Onion (6%); Breadcrumb; Salt; Black Pepper.Breadcrumb contains: Wheat Flour, Salt, Yeast.

Does anyone know if the Lincolnshire Butcher's Choice are in this deal?

Mould into patties, sear quickly on each side and the burgers will keep their shape.Would Value beef work?

Home prepared food beats factory made food every time, no contest.

Value beef would mould into patties and the fat would run through, but the problem is that you might find the occasional gristly bit.

I eat most stuff, but Sainsbury's value Mince is attrocious (IMHO)m my vote goes for buying the burgers in this instance, heat added for them & the sausages

This is the best sausage I've tasted.

Trouble is they are over £2 for six.

not a big fan of the saugages on offer (bought some yesterday) but they arent as bad as the Value ones to be fair and the Linconshire ones arent included in the offer.
Heat added anyway as they are a good deal anyway!

Mmmm hungry!

Tried them some time ago and they're rubbish imho. You'll find the pan full of fat giving you an idea of the quality of the mince in there.

Not my experience of them.

I'd give them a go at 99p. The food at Sainsbury's have never caused me any bother, I've been a long standing shopper and sometimes some people on here don't half complain about the littlest things.
There's a credit crunch about, people are struggling to live their lives how they were 5 or even 10 years ago, so slating sausages that are now 99p which could help a lot of people is ridiculous!

I'm giving this offer heat. If you don't like these sausages, you are entitled to your opinion but there is no reason to try and put people off a good deal. Not everyone is rich :-) xx

You can't have tasted many then! :whistling:

They are OK, pretty decent even for an "every-day" sort of product, with synthetic skins which let them down a bit. They were on Netto offer very recently at £2.29 for TWO packs (gone now I am afraid), and I bought them in quantity for that price, but are still not a patch on the Sainsbury own brand finest range. Probably a good bit better than the Sainsburys ones in this offer though.

The burgers are pretty good though, and far the better buy in my opinion (although as mentioned previously were cheaper a while back on a long term basis, not just an "offer," so this offer is not as generous as Sainsbury's are trying to make out!), I find them reminiscent of the traditional butcher's type of beefburger, and NOT the plainer seasoning-only type of "Hamburger" which often suits me better. If I want the all meat ones, I make them myself.
TIP: as good quality meat used for burgers has a lot more glycogen (effectively a form of glucose,a sugar) than cheap cuts of meat, a small pinch or two of SUGAR added to mince used to make burgers makes them taste a little more succulent (don't go mad, just a little) - it is what many manufacturers do, usually in the form of a sugar like Dextrose.
