Thanks for posting. Haven’t tried this in a few years. Worth a shot!

Have you tried Symprove? Although quiet expensive it seems to have helped people with the symptoms of IBS.

Agreed, I had a full endoscopy and the other one in January, after six months of agony, losing weight and sleepless nights, I assumed I must be celiac or crohns or worse... tests were inconclusive so diagnosis is IBS, I'm just going through a redundancy now and my stress levels are through the roof, the symptoms are back, as bad as ever.

Sorry to hear that. Do you know what type of ibs you have, IBS-C or IBS-D?

I have had IBS-C symptoms for around 2 years and have suffered with excessive wind, bloating, constipation and cramping. I have tried peppermint oils, increasing my fibre intake, changing my diet and have even taken probiotics (pill based) to somewhat temporary relief. I have been doing some research and have recently come across this probiotic called Symprove which is liquid based. I was really put off by the price as its £20 a bottle for 1 weeks worth and your supposed to take it for 12 weeks so that it works fully. I have tried several other options as listed above and in the end thought what the hell, if it works then money well spent, although if it fails then its money wasted, but at least I have tried it. I am on my 3rd day today and I already feel a difference. Hardly any cramps, wind, bloating has gone down and trips to the toilet are much better than before. One thing to note though is that the regular flavour tastes really vile, so vile that I have to hold my nose whilst I drink. Anyways, I am just trying to recommend this to those that have not tried this yet and are looking for something that could help. Remember this is not exactly a cure and it may not work for you, but if it does and it gives you a better quality of life then great!

Have ordered 4 bottles. Will post back in a month or 2 with an update.

Been suffering with ibs-d for approx 20 years. Much more under control with diet changes but still get crippling diarrhoea from time to time.

Thanks again for your help!!

No Problem, I hope it works for you. Who did you order with and which flavour did you get?

Stress is a real trigger for it IMO, I was diagnosed with IBS a few years back now and have just learnt to live with it.

Sometimes I can go weeks and it's fine but during stressful times it can get really bad.

I've also heard of Symprove that people have mentioned, I think Professor Green tried it on Instagram (another IBS sufferer!!)
Could anyone recommend where I can find Symprove? I have tried most other treatments. Also unsure if pro biotics (actimel or vitamin pill form) are doing any good or worsening. Good to know I’m not alone!

I have tried the pill based probiotics for around 2 months with minor improvements. Apparently the pill and yogurt probiotics are not effective enough as most of the good bacteria is killed before it hits the stomach, whereas Symproves liquid version is made uniquely that it hits the stomach and is able to multiply. I purchased Symprove from Amazon and have only ordered 2 bottles so far as I am trialing, but I will be doing the 12 week programme anyway as that is what they recommend. If you order 8 bottles (8 weeks), then they offer 4 bottles (4 weeks) for free. Even if you buy say 2 individually, but then buy the 4 pack and then say another 2 at some point then they will still offer the 4 bottles free as each time you order from amazon your orders are tracked with Symprove.

Wow, that price is fantastic. Thanks for sharing! Much cheaper than Amazons 4 pack.
For milder symptoms, I'm seeing good results from enteric coated peppermint oil capsules.
Ordered. Thanks

Thanks for this info, I might give this a try. My method is take some actimel and I drink Ayran (Turkish/middle east yogurt drink). It relieves the symptoms to a certain extent.

For anyone who's not ordered subscribe & save before, there is a SNS40 code which may bring the price down by 40%. I found out too late!
EDIT: ah, the item limit for this is 1, so the saving would be £1.60 at best.

Mine was a little rocky to begin with but subsided around the 4-5 day mark. Obviously everyone is different and I guess it takes time for the body to get used to it.

Here is information taken from the symprove website;

"Which difference might I see over the 12 weeks?

A minority of people report some ups and downs as their bodies adjust to the Symprove bacteria.  This is perfectly normal so don’t be alarmed and continue to take Symprove daily.
Most people report a positive feeling within the first few weeks, although it can take longer.
It is important to take Symprove for the full 12 weeks in order to experience the best results from a healthy balance of gut bacteria
In the latter part of the 12 week programme, our customers generally report that their experience settles as routine is established and they become accustomed to the Symprove bacteria.
From an independent trial on Symprove it was found that 12 weeks was an optimal period for change."

Hey, how is the symprove? Any noticeable improvements since your last comment. I am on my 2nd week now, which I would say I am 95% symptom free. Yesterday I was able to have a couple of drinks of cider without any stomach cramps! Hopefully this is working for you as well!

Literally the same experience for me but I made my own kefir. To add I also had surgery in the rectum with hemmy removal and fissures from infection. 3 months bed ridden then 9 recovery. Killer! Tried everything but home made kefir helped a lot

Thanks. Just spoke to their customer service and she recommended halving the dose and gradually building up. Its a sign its doing something and my gut needs time to adjust. Sounds like a good plan as today I have cramps and diarrhoea and was thinking of stopping it.

Have had tests for celiac, chrones, stool tests, 3 colonoscopies/ endoscopies, capsule endoscopy, hydrogen breath test (highly lactose intolerant) and tried all sorts of alternative medicines. They’ve ruled out everything so its just IBS I have.

I will post back in a few weeks or when things change.

Appreciate your help and concern. Have a great weekend!
