Mine arrived today, and I have to say, I think it is awesome. The Blu Ray player has a USB pot on the front, which allows you to play 3D films straight from a memory stick. I could not be happier with this deal, so much for so little money.

Another nice feature about this tv, it has 4 HDMI sockets, and 2 USB ones, which make this tv even greater value.

Just reserved one, not a massive film fan or tv fan but need to replace my 32" widescreen chunky tv as its looking dated. Been waiting for this to tv to breakdown but its very resilient. This seems a great deal

Does anyone have the model number for this set?

Original Poster

The model number is LCD42911FHD3D.

Waller, you will have to let me know how you get on with yours. Mine appears to be running great, one of the best TV's I have ever had.

Reserved this as its too good to pass up. Just need to sell my 32" Samsung ASAP now he he

Thanks for the model number, nothing too interesting online about it!
If this got 20 quid cheaper like the 32 did it would be awesome!

That would be fantastic, I bought mine for £399.99, and Argos refunded me the £50. I think they do this if the price is reduced within 30 days of your purchase. It's definitely a gamble though, as the price may not be reduced another £20.

To be honest, I was well happy with the tv and blu ray player, I would have easily paid the £399.99.

Yes I'm happy with mine and haven't even tried the blu ray 3d yet

Sounds good, reserved one for now, thanks!

If anyone is struggling to purchase TV and Blu-Ray Player - I have an Argos reservation code going that expires today - Wood Green - North London.

high power consumption - NOT full HD 3D - Passive 3D - Thick Frame makes it big - a bit chilly for me.

I don't think you're going to tell the difference between full HD 3D or not, you're much more likely to pick up on interlace lines. LG claims they show all the resolution in the 1080p signal to each eye temporally. As in, the TV shows the odd lines of resolution on the odd lines of the TV, then flash the even lines of resolution on the odd lines of the TV (and the opposite for the even lines).

I actually prefer passive 3D anyway: Cheaper glasses with no batteries, less chance of seeing flickering, less dimming of picture, more comfortable for long periods.

I think the next best bet from this is an LG at £400 with no blu-ray player or if you want active 3D you're looking at something like a Samsung at £500+. So on price I think this is pretty hot!

Picked mine up last night. Watched Harold and Kumar in 3D and avengers. Wow!!!!
Sound is crap from the TV but that gives me a reason to get surround. Any cheap suggestions?

I picked up the Teac AV receiver that got very hot on here. Got the Blu Ray Player, Tivo Box, PS3 and 360 all connected up to it, which means only one HDMI cable is being used on the TV.

Just waiting for the final parts of my computer to arrive, and I will hook that up directly to the TV and AV receiver. All in all, it will be a pretty nice setup when complete.

The amp and speakers were £99.95 each.

Thanks to everyone on HDUK for pointing out these fantastic bargains, and advising on what componenets to get for my new PC.

Good luck finding any self respecting independent reviewer willing to bench test this. Its about worth the price, noticed the inflated price of £90 for the blu ray player obviously to make this deal seem better, worth 35 at a push.

Avforums did the 32inch version of this tv and it reviewed well. Mainly due to it using an LG panel which this is almost certainly using too. The SD to HD conversion was good on the 32 apparently so is likely to be good on this too.

Can anyone advise on the quality of picture whilst watching football on Sky 3D. Thanks.

First post on hduk. The other deal for 32inch tv and blu ray is still on, just reserved mine from meadowhall Sheffield, one more in stock

Does anyone have the bluray player with this tv ? Does it play avi/divx movies through the usb port ?

will the blu ray player play mkv ?

I got one Boxing Day but today it developed a vertical line .. Took it straight back and they swapped it for a new one .. Great tv for the money if you get the 3d blu-ray player free with one of the deals easy to set up takes a few minutes to channel scan .. Great stuff

Anyone know contrast ratio and viewing angle of this

Found review for 32" here s link--- avforums.com/rev…tml

Cbjackson, how do you do the virtual 3D? I've tried and it just displays messy. Is it only certain channels?

Allsa001 what did it come with speakers? I know it sounds like I'm a cheapskate but was looking to spend about £100 all in. Not looking for anything amazing.
