I bought my mum a 1950's style DAB radio. It broke in less than 3 months.

Might just be bad luck, but I'd be wary of Bush brand radios, if I was you.
As you guessed, it had been listed back in July and so a reminder is welcome.

Brilliant. Thanks op this looks great.
just ordered haha
Damn things were clunky "back in the day" and so I am curious to know why such things would be any less clunky now?
Probably the same price in 1970 when it was first on sale.
I was gonna vote cold, but then I noticed that a credit plan is available. Heat from me!
Met the girl on Monday....

I got this a few months ago when it was £11.99. Didnt buy it for the radio so haven't tried it out yet. I just loved the retro look of it. It works great and keeps good time but it's a very strange clock as sometimes a light comes on in it and I checked the manual and nowhere does it state theres a light. I notice it coming on sometimes if I bump the table its sitting on. So i tried tapping on the top of the clock and sometimes the light comes on and sometimes it doesnt lol😄 I wondered if anyone else had noticed this? :/
If you're into modding things then this is worth it just for the parts.
I got one. From the first day it was nearly 6 hours out after 24 hours. Simply cannot keep time. Visually, it's nice, it just doesn't work as a clock.

Or put a custom Nixie Clock in it.

It says 'Mains Operated' but also 'Batteries required'. Can you confirm if you can run this off the mains? Thanks!

if you want to turn the light on, push down the back part for 1-2 seconds.

yes it does, power supply is in the box. it can run on batteries / use battery backup as well but it is mains powered.

Are these noisy when the time changes?

they make a bit of a clunk yes. It doesn't bother me, and i'm a fairly light sleeper, but if the sound of something ticking away bothers you at night then yeah you might not like it. It's pretty quiet though if you ask me.
If anyone wanted one of these and couldn't find stock near to them when they checked on Thursday or Friday then you may want to check again today. I couldn't find any in stock anywhere in London yesterday but today I ordered 2 to collect at my local store so more appear to have come into stock. It's possible that this is due to people cancelling orders but I don't know.

I wanted one of these for the retro value, going to have one for the bedroom and one in the living room. Should be a talking point.
