Bush DAB / FM Rechargeable Portable Digital Radio £17.99 @ Argos

This has a built-in Lithium battery that lasts around 5 hrs, charges via standard micro USB charger. Needs a pair of headphones or an aux cable connected to act as an antenna. Works great connected to my car head unit via the 3.5mm aux socket. Blue backlight for use in the dark. Note this does not have a built in speaker.

I wouldn't bother mate. I have a portable DAB and hooked it up via my AUX port in the car. It barely gets a signal.

I get a good signal in my car with it, better than my old FM roof aerial! maybe try a different aux cable?

Seen mixed reviews that reception hit n' miss - anybody got / recommend? Tempted @ this price + voucher weekend @ Argos too.

ive got one, cant fault it, works a treat.Tried leaving it on to see how long battery lasted from fully charged, on half volume, got about 8 hrs. 2-3 hours recharge time using a decent wall usb charger.

I think you'll find that it has been good etiquette since the site started that you don't post duplicate deals. If you wish to bring a good deal to peoples attention again then people usually add it in the title.
AFAIK duplicate posts are supposed to be marked as spam so the mods can pick it up.

I wrote an objective review for the Argos site and because I didn't say it was wonderful they rejected the review. So the summary is: earphones supplied are very very poor. I had to add some costing £8 to make it even half decent and even then the sound quality is very thin. I live in a strong DAB area (I can see the transmitter about 8 miles away) and the reception is average. In my car when played through the 3.5mm earphone socket into my car audio 3.5mm socket the sound is much better but the cabling is a real mess especially as you need to also connect your car charger (smartphone type) to keep the battery topped up. Battery life is 4-5 hours. Is it good value? Depends what you want, for occasional use whilst travelling about it's OK but don't expect it to give sparkling audio (especially at this price!).

Bought one last week. Got a cable from Maplins to plug it in to my car head unit and got brilliant reception up the motorway from Bristol to Maidenhead. Miles better than the Pure portable I bought which cost 4 times as much and could only pick up a few stations. I now wish I'd spent a bit more and bought this one instead on account of the longer battery life. It's just been reduced by £5 as well:

I bought this unit a few weeks ago when it was £18.99p

I think it is fantastic. I use it in my office - surrounded by PCs etc - and the reception is great.

I use it with the JVC HAFX1X Xtreme Xplosive earphones - and the sound is fantastic.
JVCHAF1X
I assume that the better quality cable used in the JVC earphones improves the reception - the earphone cable is in effect the aerial for the unit. And also - I get a good couple of days use before it needs a re-charge.

I'm very happy with this unit. And at £17.99p now - it is a nice little bargain.
Pleased I can now get access to all the sport radio shows and rock music stations - whilst in the office and when going for walks or at footie matches.

I give this unit a big thumbs up. Can't really go wrong at £17.99p

This is a lower price than ever posted so I would say it's a new deal? If not does that mean the 47,000 Samsung EVO deals posted every week where the price changes by three pence on Amazon are all duplicate deals? Most users don't seem to mind and vote accordingly.

Bargain, bought one last time it was posted on here, I'm a HGV driver, go from Manchester to Hull, then down to Birmingham each night, only time it struggles on reception is over the tops on the 62, otherwise it performs faultlessly, I just got a longer jack to jack lead for my truck, in the car i have the radio dangling from my rear view mirror and the aerial "jack lead" runs from it, over my sun viser, down my door pillar, along the dash to my head unit, I recommend buying one, specially now it's cheaper!

Cheaper price usually gets a new deal, though I have seen when it's from the same company people have good etiquette and amend the first original post.. Whatever helps I suppose.

I bought one in the week and have no problems, reception is good, sound is only through the headphone socket and not via the mini USB that's only for charging, bit plasticky but what do you expect for £19.00 voted hot from me

Ordered. Thanks.

the previous comment had nothing to do with the slight price change. They were saying it's quite ok to duplicate a deal like for like which I see as annoying.
I did vote this deal hot though, as you pointed out, it's cheaper than previously posted

Because if the previous post was less than 4 weeks old and at the same price, this would be SPAM. Regardless of when YOU first see it, this post is cheaper so should stand.

got one when it was last posted, I use it in car with spare speaker as my car radio is very old. gets good reception as the link cable acts as an aerial.

What you just posted has already been posted.

There are some really pedantic people on here. The guy posted a deal he thought would be useful, but gets shot down by people! Get a grip

Reserved one for pick up later today. Been looking for one. Thanks poster. Good find and I missed original post here. Voted hot
